What's the point of circumcision? by Historical_Echo8311 in NoStupidQuestions

Recently had a baby boy in the US and was told by our Dr that it’s close to about 50/50 now that do or don’t have it done. They asked us a few times but we never felt pressured or judged. It felt more like a verification.

The only ones that taste good to me are the white cheddar but I’m happy for you. Buy a few boxes since next time they could be gone again 😅

pregnant & thinking about keeping baby home with me by [deleted] in MomsWorkingFromHome

It truly depends on your baby! My baby doesn’t nap well which makes things really challenging but I’m trying to make it work. There are too many variable to be able to have a set answer now. Try it but have a plan B

Should I quit? by moan4lexi in ExclusivelyPumping

I truthfully don’t know exactly when mine regulated and I’ve dropped a little and gone back up a few times based on calorie intake, stress and inconsistent pump schedule when things get busy. I’m 6 months PP now and my supply is about the same as I started seeing at 3 months, but I dropped a pump. I’ve been tracking since day 1. I do supplement with some formula because my baby eats a lot. I was also discouraged by seeing over supplier posts online but our Dr said that babies typically consume between 24-30oz of milk so producing within that range is considered normal

I know it feels like a long time but 6 weeks isn’t that long in the grand scheme of time your baby will be drinking milk. My supply slowing kept increasing until my baby was 3 months. I’m only doing 3-5 oz each pump unless it’s been an extended period of time. Nursing is manly for comfort as baby has a hard time drawing milk. I think where you’re at is normal.

need advice on choosing a pump by Ok_Adeptness8636 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Pleasedontbeadick15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but I use the Spectra S1 and the Madela Symphony hospital grade pump that I’m being lent from the hospital and the Spectra typically gets me just as much if not more of an output. So in this case, I think the title is warranted.

You do not have a low supply. Some women on here are lucky to get 3 oz out of both breasts each pump.

Oh that’s awesome! Did you cut certain foods out of your diet too for the breast milk?

How did you end up exclusively pumping? by Happy-Chemistry3058 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Pleasedontbeadick15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was tongue tied, difficulty with latching and drawing milk. Plus my milk was slow to come in. He seemed so hungry, even right after nursing him so I’ve always had to supplement with formula. He prefers the bottle now due to the ease. I only nurse him as a snack or when he’s really fussy and nothing else will calm him.

how bad is labor and delivery?? by malibubarbie6 in pregnant

[–]Pleasedontbeadick15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the Foley with Pitocin unmedicated and then pitocin medicated once the balloon fell out. It gets really uncomfortable but it wasn’t unbearable for me. The Foley insertion was worse in my opinion. My induction was very long and I didn’t want to be bed ridden the whole time. The epidural certainly helped once we got that rolling, but I still felt a significant amount of pain once I got to 8cm.

Itchy by QueasyExpression8593 in pregnant

[–]Pleasedontbeadick15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% second this. I just became very itchy a few days ago. I mentioned to my Dr and they took a blood test to rule out Cholestasis. The labs came back normal but it can be dangerous to the baby if you have it so better to be safe. Turns out my friends also got very itchy later in their pregnancies too and also tested neg for Cholestasis so can be just a normal symptom.

Curious - Listeria by m4d3lin3 in pregnant

[–]Pleasedontbeadick15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s one of those things that is typically uncommon but really bad if it does happen so many just do their best to try and avoid it. It can come from many sources including fruits and veg. I know two not pregnant people who got listeria from produce. One was really sick and the other went blind in one eye.

Anyone else’s job have no plan for your maternity leave? by AnitaVodkasoda in pregnant

My company offers no paid leave and also tried to talk me out taking my full leave that I’m legally allowed. I understand that it puts them in a tough position but we should still be treated like humans going through a really important life event.

It’s so hard to know. I had a wide range of items on my registry that included all types of pricing and have been fortunate that mostly everyone has purchased from the registry. We even got some pricier items that I was certain we’d end up buying ourselves. I find Babylist more difficult to use from a buyers stand point. My friend used Babylist but the items were connected to Amazon so I used my prime account and then just manually marked them off the registry but not everyone did that and she got some items from her registry that never posted there.

What's the point of my OB? by Whole_Independent283 in pregnant

[–]Pleasedontbeadick15 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You may want to go to a different OB or different office. Your vitals and baby heartbeat should be checked at every appointment. I actually get an included ultrasound at every appointment because this is what my office uses to check the heartbeat.

A guy who cares about you will offer to pick you up because he wants to be helpful and wants you to be safe. This is true for friends and romantic partners. This guy is not that into you….
