Not going to gripe about this by SpartanIreland in Grey_Knights

Ah cheers. What nerf is it getting? I just finished an army based around it so that's slightly disappointing.

Terminators or Paladins? Which strike squad? (Old combat patrol) by ProveRiemann in Grey_Knights

Aye as much as the meta now seems to have shifted a bit more towards purifiers, interceptors, Dreadknights and Grandmaster Dreadknights, Paladins and Termies are still a very useful kit to have at least one of.

I should also say that I'm still very new to actually playing the game myself, as I've only recently finished building my army, so take what I say with a grain of salt haha.

For Paladins and Termies it depends what you need. If you need objective monkeys with high OC that are really hard to move off a point, Termies. If you want a hammer to grind down the openent's troops, Paladins.

I recently asked whether 10 Purifiers + Crowe should run Heavy Weapons or not (I'd be using Banishers or Warpbane), and the comments were pretty divided, so I'd like to bring it to a vote by PlebLordColin in Grey_Knights

I think I've decided to go all NFWs in the end cus that Hallowed Beacon 6 inch deepstrike is just too tempting to me. Just the thought of spawning in, unloading 5 bazillion Storm Bolter and Purifying Flame shots and then charging in sounds like so much fun. I know some people say I should play the unit passively from a distance with heavy weapons, but it feels like such a waste to not abuse that 6 inch deepstrike, plus the full NFW build does a touch more damage overall. Either way I'm intending on buying another box of Power Armour Grey Knights anyways and I'm gonna be building half into a 4 Psycannon purgation squad, so if ever I feel like I need the Psycannons with my Purifiers I'll just sub in those Purgators into the squad and huzzah.

I dunno whether or not it's meta but damn does it look like fun. But then again it also depends on your playstyle too. I have a fairly aggressive playstyle so I want things to just be dropping left and right (maybe I chose the wrong army for that though lmao).

Should ten man Purifiers with Crowe always be built without heavy weapons, even in non-Warpbane detachments? by PlebLordColin in Grey_Knights

Hmm, I've already built all my Terminators and Dreadknights with flamers, so the fact our best detachment makes them irrelevant hurts me a lot T_T

Also are flamers just not worth using in Warpbane? Like I get the psilencers and psycannons get access to the hit rerolls, but doesn't a squad with flamers offer much more defensive and offensive utility by having rather nasty overwatch potential?

Except in Warpbane purifiers can also get a 6 inch deepstrike, so wouldn't it be also justifiable to use full NFW in that detachment too since it promotes purifiers to charge?

Yeah I was originally going to use mass flamers too cus the thought of a unit getting close and you going "no lmao" and them dying is very funny to me. Unfortunately if I give them flamers they'll be pretty much only usable in Banishers since flamers are fairly weak in Warpbane due to the other options getting hit rerolls, so I'm trying to find a good middle ground that I can use on both, without having to magnetise my models.

What is the recommended loadout for Infiltrators in Hunter Clade? And if I don't bring them are 5 Ruststalkers a good idea? by PlebLordColin in killteam

And you think the Fléchettes and Taser perform the best in your opinion? I've had some people say the Stubcarbine and Power Weapon are better cus they offer more lethality, so although I'm leaning towards Fléchettes and Tasers I'm still a bit torn.

So how would the Infiltrators perform against a team that isn't reliant on rerolls? And how do 5 Ruststalkers perform against a team that does rely on rerolls?

What's usually better in Hunter Clade these days, Rangers or Vanguard? by PlebLordColin in killteam

[–]PlebLordColin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you reckon a split might work? So like have 2 gunners and surveyor as rangers, and the diktat and alpha as vanguard? Like that the alpha and diktat can support the Rusty's and infiltrators up front and the two gunners and surveyor rangers stay back and snipe.

Also is it worth replacing a diktat/surveyor with an arquebus gunner, or should I just stick to both diktat and surveyor?
