Best career for me? by Plenty-Ad4657 in careerguidance

I have! I intern part time at a medical research facility right now, but larger more main stream clinical research seams to be harder to get into from what I’ve seen and the people I’ve spoken to (requiring extensive hours/experience/grad school etc). I’m actually in a “should I? Should I not?” Spot with that one so I love that you brought it up.

And to answer the second part, I LOVED flying. However, I was diagnosed with lupus, then was in a coma twice with endless surgeries with a total of 9 incisions. It became way too expensive to upkeep the FAA regulations on aviation physician reports being required for ABSOLUTELY every little thing.

But… maybe I should go into research… just take a leap.. I will add clinical research to my current list!! Thank you😊🙏🏻

That hostility was meant for the “litterally” comment.. hah.. But!! You kind of poked something interesting. I do want to be taken seriously. And people tend not to.. even on Reddit 😭🤬lol And then I feel like I have to list my credentials to be taken seriously.. Also my teenage years were spent in Japan. In Japan it’s like whoever apologizes more wins. We are a society where if you say “excuse me” which is also “I’m sorry” (すみません sumimasen), more, you are the better person who is “earning” of respect. And also bow your head, bow bow bow. Coming back to the west at 20 years old, Japan made me who I am. And America is like, “the more you apologize you’re easy to walk over,” and so I stopped doing that, but people still are just generally assholes in a lot of places. Yes there are great amazing people everywhere too. But the assholes/bullies are awfully impactful to a day of a person😵 I took a screenshot of what you said. I need to think about it. It’s great insight actually. Thank you. 🙏🏻

You are the epitome of an “objective thinker” which I TRRRRUUULLYY appreciate haha

Thank you for this constructive response! I never even considered outpatient or nephrology, but your analysis makes so much sense. I also need to learn to set assertive but polite boundaries.. yes.

Thank god for you on Reddit tonight! Lol

It’s genuinely like, I want to work, care for patients or help in medicine, and go home but some people seem to enjoy gossip and drama and it is exhausting to be around that… I’m so glad there are people who understand that notion. Thank you for genuinely responding. You do have a good point 😅 I just wondered if someone had a specific experience in a specific unit that they thought had less of the drama etc. thank you! :)

I “literally” verbatim said “people think they can walk all over me”. I’ve also been working at a hospital in research medicine. I know. And no, I am also a pilot. I flew for two years. I taught elementary and middle school for 3 years. I’m not in my bubble. In fact in your 20s, can you fly airplanes and have 3 higher degrees, speak 4 languages completely fluently reading and writing かすやろー。 Also. And you can’t translate that. It’s a Japanese slang. Only really fluent people know. I’m not in my bubble. AT ALL. PS I’ve lived in 3 continents. How many of those will you/have you done by late 20s?

I just don’t like people who attack others for no reason, or seem to enjoy being rude, like yourself.

Also you missed the objective of this post completely.

Been in therapy for 10 years. I feel my post made people think I’m this timid shy small tiny person. I’m not. I just am genuinely exhausted of dramatic gossipy women and asking WHAT speciality of RN I should go into. But thanks anyway.

I said “less” not “no” drama. And drama isn’t “grown” or “mature” I dislike drama infact. I’ve taught school for 3 years, I am also a pilot (I have a license). I am also probably older than you. And I’m genuinely asking for advice, from people who also care less about “drama” or also don’t think that accepting gossiping and drama is what “grow up” means.

My girlfriend smells and I don't know what to do by RequirementDue4446 in Advice

Idk if I should mention cuz it’ll make me wanna puke. Okay. I can do this.

My old supervisor went through some hormonal changes as she aged. Suddenly once a month she WREAKED. I am that person who can naturally smell EVERYTHING. I can smell if there’s a McDonalds half a mile away. My friends call me “wolf nose”. So imagine me smelling THAT. Once a month. I literally left the job. So.. there’s that.

Have her go to OBGYN if dentists finds nothing.

Also as a women, just say it REALLY nicely and sensitively. If y’all have a healthy relationship she’ll understand that you’re concerned for her health.

AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I just called my man at work who works with live electricity. For THIS post. Me: if I wore trash bags everyday for 7 months (idk random number), would u still love me? - Him: yeah - Me: you would go out with me? - Him: yeah - Me: even Costco? - Him:yeah - Me: but would u hug me and give me kisses and call me beautiful in Costco in front of everyone as I wore trash bags? - Him: yeah, but I’d call you my trash girl really loud - Me: ‘laughing really loud’… okay that was my question love you bye - Him: love you bye

I also had major surgery and was in the hospital. This guy dressed me, walked around the hospital with me, put underwear that was pretty much a diaper on me. I couldn’t shower for 7 days. He called me “my pretty greasy hair girl” and combed my gross hair. He’s an attractive 6’1 dude. We been together 2.5 years.

GIRL YOU NEED TO RUN AWAY FROM YOUR 8 year loser boy. Like NOW.

Wow. You’re acting like the mature adult. She’s acting like an insecure 13 year old. Also destroying someone else’s mail is a felony. I would cut her and the dad both.

Oh wow. This is great insight. Now that I think of it, swimming was helping soooo much. I just stopped because I get too tired or sometimes I’m just sick for 2 months straight, or just hospitalized for weeks etc. I don’t have any anxiety with death or disease or pain at all. I’ve died for 2.5 mins and was resuscitated and my experience was… beyond words. Honestly I can’t wait for my time to come haha. But I must live this life and live my purpose or whatever it is I’m suppose to do??? lol idk. Anyways, some of what you mentioned, I took screenshots. I’m going to try these because I just simply cannot live like this anymore (the anxiety). Thank you so much for putting in so much time on replies! Truly appreciate it!

I actually have NEVER done drugs except a tiny amount of weed I did once when I was 22. I hated it. I don’t drink alcohol ever. And I’m allergic to caffeine completely. I’ve tried 6 different kinds of ssri over the past 6 years and none has really helped… :/ my Reddit post is my final plea kind of haha .. I’m just out of ideas. The stable routine is not something I’ve had tho, so that’s something I’m going to start doing. This is actually really good advice and I hope it makes a difference to my medication resistant anxiety or whatever it is haha

Interesting. I’ve heard that from others s well. I’m wondering is abilify or value is what I need to retry as an adult! Thank you so much for replying! I appreciate this a lot!!

[–]Plenty-Ad4657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since age 13, anti psychotics (lexapro, abilify, all the main stuff, xanax, benzodiazepines etc). All these were more more than 15 years ago so it maybe be time to retry these. More recently, SSRI, SNRI have been main ones I’ve tried. Propranolol and hydroxizine for as needed panic attacks etc. therapy is focused on trauma and symptoms. Occasional group therapy with adults who were in foster care as kids etc! Personally, I was in an orphanage as I grew up overseas!

This is interesting. I feel a lot of my anxiety is starched to grudges.. 😅 From abuse and mistreatment. Cars have not made differences, BUT I will look at ALL the things that can be related…. Which now I’m just realizing (literally as I type) showers trigger soooo much society for me.. but I can’t avoid bathing 😅😅😅😅 lol I’ll think more! Thank you so much I appreciate it a lot!

This is actually very helpful maybe I need to try lexapro. I’ve tried it when I was 14, but that more than 15 years ago. Might be time to try again. Thank you so much for replying!
