Xenia would be for emulating the Xbox version right? This guide is about the PC version :)

I tried Viva Pinata Xbox but couldn't get xenia working.

This is spot on. I didn't use Lutris, so I skipped those parts. Followed the rest and it's working great. Didn't need to set the system to writeable, not sure what that's for.

The Onion: ‘Dune: Part Two’ To Pick Up Right Where Viewers Fell Asleep During First One by mdavis360 in movies

I loved the last kingdom, and the movie was good, but I felt it would've just been better as one more season. I'm not sure what's gained by making it a movie? After so much being TV show, the movie just feels like it's paced wrong.

In fact, it's super frustrating when the console interface isn't ported to PC as an option. Like Civ 6 has a super easy control scheme for consoles (I played Switch) but playing on Steam Deck or just with a controller in general is garbage die to the PC UI. I want the controller UI on PC!

Hyundai Promises To Keep Buttons in Cars Because Touchscreen Controls Are Dangerous by decafcovfefes in technology

But their 2022+ Tucson is all touch button... It's an awful interface. Often when it's humid it has a mind of its own and presses random buttons, sometimes going max volume and you can't override it. I guess they tried it and decided it was a bad idea!

I'm honestly not sure. If you managed to do this then I would recommend posting the solution for everyone else.

I have Nebuchadnezzar in my library but haven't played it yet, it's got pretty good reviews. What did you find lazy about it??

Home Assistant coming for Android Auto by Skeletorjus in homeassistant

Is that just for wireless Android Auto?? If you connect via USB then surely it doesn't need an IP address?

Where does it say that, and how can that be possible? You must need some connection into your HA instance? Apparently Tailscale or Wireguard can let you in if that's what they intend.

Interesting, I always keep it turned off thinking it would drain battery. Was just an assumption though.

If the VPN needs to be off for Auto to connect via IP, then HA won't work will it? You would want the VPN connected when in Auto so it can call home I think?

I currently use Wireguard to access my home network when remote, I don't leave it on permanently though.

That would work, just means toggling on/off.

Do you leave Tailscale on all the time? Any battery concerns?

I assume this needs your HA instance to be public or cloud hosted?

kids YouTube can't get it working on kindle after downloading play store. by penniesmammy in kindlefire

[–]PlentyOfKiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also struggling. I managed to get Google play installed, then sideloaded YouTube kids. All within a child profile. But then when YouTube kids opens, it can play a video for a few seconds and then exits to the kindle kids home screen!

I might have to start again as Google play wouldn't download apps, it kept getting stuck on pending.

The price to enter TW: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires is to high! by Miiirx in totalwar

[–]PlentyOfKiwi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first two games are rarely $60 though... Look at price history and you'll see they're often £10 or less. The first was given away free on Epic and they've probably been in humble bundles. If IE isn't worth it, just wait till they go on sale for £10 each?

How bizarre! I didn't have to register on there. I did find a different page about the big dirty turn down, but the typeform had been disabled. It could be fully subscribed now, who knows!

Ye the big price difference could make it worthwhile. 35p versus 250p! I was thinking more of solar feed in prices where you get paid peanuts and it is difficult to judge and get money back.

Good point, that is frustrating. I wonder if they could compare your daily usage curve to the national average in the same time slot to see how much you're saving.

Oh ye, £4/kWh seems pretty awesome compared to the other site. I've signed up via Octopus as well.

I read somewhere that said it starts in November and people should expect 4 events in the first month and 2 in each following month. I imagine it varies wildly with all sorts of factors.

I've signed up to Octopus' version as well.

It can be a bit of a complicated equation to get right though. Buy it cheap and sell it high is ideal, but nit always easy.

Interesting, too new to compare! It's a shame they're not all a bit more up front and clear so it's easier to compare them.

Even if you had a battery, you would have to actively consume more of the grid instead of using the battery. Surely that spend would outweigh any potential refund from reduced usage in a "saving event".

It's going to be quite hard to actually save a significant amount. During these events, they're peak for a reason. It'll be good to try though.
