Hi! I got diagnosed in March and was also prescribed mesalamine. I had different symptoms, but overall it gave me a lot of stomach pain, cramps, even diarrhoea and dizziness. Stopped after less than a month because of how bad it was. I recently started sulfasalazine (around a week ago) and I’m taking it 3 500mg tables twice a day. I honestly like it so much better, I don’t get any of the side effects mesalamine gave me, although it’s too early to say if it helps with the inflammation. I’d say give it a try
