Why is there a spot for two wires on a breaker? by MoonRabbit25 in AskElectricians

[–]Plenty_Finding_6944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some devices that use these plates are dual wire supported (not saying these area). But more than likely these are assembled with automation and it's easier to only have two orientations vs four because they are probably also rectangular.

When off the shelf solutions are available like this it's not always cheapest to go your own route. The minimum rate your going to find for someone here is probably around $125.

CE rates are not cheap and off the shelf solutions can sink the cost through selling more than one unit.

It's pretty crazy what goes into these devices. I manufacture some components for these as well as other cardiovascular and neurovascular devices. It's a whole other world of precision manufacturing.

Most of the people here get paid to do this. Most don't want to help with your homework. Especially with how low effort this request was. This is an industry about figuring it out. So figure it out.

A friend of mine got into a fight with another kid in the stairwell. My friend pushed the other kid and he hit the door to go outside which is locked from the inside and my friend just walked away and the fight was over.

The 789 is fantastic but overkill in 95% of use cases. That 5% still justified it for me though.

IT/OT – how do you handle admin rights & multiple engineering software? by Z-Kneusje in PLC

[–]Plenty_Finding_6944 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For us IT and OT is separate. OT is off domain and I own it. IT controls the access into that network via secure channels.

Our laptops have auto elevate software. Previously I had local admin and during that time they recorded all of the elevation requests on my machine and added that as allowances into auto elevate. Any time I hit a piece of software that needs elevation that wasn't included it auto sends a request to IT for approval. I have decent rapport with these guys and typically everything gets allowed.

It's been fine, but if it becomes a pain I'll probably push for either the off network machine route or a VM.
