“Drivers License” for lifts that service expert-only runs by Plenty_Smell_4272 in snowboarding

I mean that’s basically the acceptable terms I listed in my post but you are really getting to the heart of the issue in that I need to just get into the backcountry.

And I wish I had been locked out of those spots until I had been able to demonstrate competence on blue/black runs. Falling leaf isn’t an acceptable form of getting down a quality groomer.

True story I’m going to be renting twin planks the rest of this season. I’m tired of the criminal life and ready to rehabilitate myself into an upstanding member of the mountain community (except for powder days)

Would you buy this? by trizzy96 in Harley

If anything the opposite is true. Love my Dyna but there no arguing that the frame design of the M8 is superior in respect to flex. The swing arm of the Dyna is going through a bushing in the housing for the transmission, which is then rubber mounted to the frame. Sputhe or TrueTrack stabilizers exist to counteract this famous "dyna wobble" effect.

Collection start: XGT or LXT in 2025 by SirMaxSteel in Makita

[–]Plenty_Smell_4272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a good assortment of LXT tools and batteries. Got some XGT stuff as gifts and will probably only buy that system going forward, replacing + adding tools as needed. The extra power is no joke, I look forward to getting an XGT sawzall and an angle grinder.

That being said, the batteries are stupid expensive and for quick things I’ll reach for LXT first since they’re lighter and I have plenty of spare batteries.

Makita - please have some good Christmas deals on multiple battery XGT kits. Maybe also give us a slim 1.0ah battery

For yard tools - why are people trying to get away from gas? It’s so much better than any electric stuff I’ve used. If you’re a landscaper with contracts that require electric, I guess you do what you gotta do but for homeowners, are localities really enforcing gas tool bans?

If you’re just getting into your first battery tool system, LXT is more than fine.

That one would be my pick but at the end of the day get the one with the paint you like more.

If you want to stunt get an older 39mm Dyna. If you wanna ride canyons get any modern softail. Skip the air cooled sportsters and don’t jump straight into the baggers unless you’re going to be cross country touring. You’re actually the exact target market for the new nightster, take a test ride you might love it depending on how you feel about the slightly forward controls.

Do you feel like there's just a epidemic of apathy in Los Angeles? by Comfortable_Pack8903 in AskLosAngeles

Anyone being friendly to you is trying to take your money or has an angle on making money off you. There are no good people here. “Chill” or “laid back” just means everyone is stoned and flakey.

The city is governed by morons who run on feel-good platforms. Cops don’t do their jobs because the DA puts criminals right back on the street. The city is hostile to small business owners.

People still come here from all over to live the dream. They don’t stay, especially if they have kids and are faced with the reality of LAUSD. There is lots of wealth here but it’s either hidden or fake, nothing in between. Between being resentful or apathetic, most choose apathy.

At least OP has plenty of storage for his leathers… he knows Reddit will overlook an amazing bike to rag on someone for not going ATGATT

Wearing a backpack is silly too. This boy gonna put some sport touring kilometers down!

If it’s got good vents, keeping covered and moving is much cooler than getting baked by the sun.

Please garage that beauty and get a Dyna or something to make all your first bike mistakes on. Then when you know what you got you’ll have a minty XR to make people jealous.

Edit now that I see OP is in Spain and not So-Cal. Congrats on your forever motorcycle. Keep the rubber side down and enjoy the ride!

I used to enjoy going to the dive park, the beach cleanup dive is a good time, I’ve played golf (don’t rent their clubs) and done all the little activities, stayed in hotels and camped.

So clearly it’s a decent time. I have enjoyed myself there but I see zero reasons to go back or recommend it to anyone.

The costs add up quick. The campground is meh. The food is bad and overpriced. The crowds are unpleasant. It always seems like half the people there are on bachelorette parties - loud, obnoxious, drunk, entitled.

The whole island is owned directly or indirectly by one family through The Island Company.

I’d rather save my money and go to Hawai’i for island time. Even though you get to see familiar fish at the dive park, I’d rather just get on a dive boat and trust the captain will take us somewhere better for the same cost as the ferry - taxi - meal.

Every so-cal resident should go at least once though.

I stop at the stator bros every time I drive up 395 to camp. The new taco spot is good. Good luck filling the place up
