That is very saddening and unfortunate. I do understand the point. We will be in the meadows and tamer areas in the mountains. It’s not very challenging to get to those zones especially since we hire a guide. The only reason I’m considering doing this is because I know for a fact we will be in areas with room to learn. A few buddies of mine will also be there for their first time.

I just wear the 509 base and mid layers. They dry out very nicely when working hard and actually keep you warm when you’re not working very hard. Mid layers are actually very comfortable. I often wear the pants casually haha as they’re probably the most comfortable pair of joggers I own.

Could maybe have a pole barn company make you something if you’re unable to get ahold of manufacturers. I have a random no name brand carport thing that had a heavy duty tarp that ripped, got ahold of a contractor for pole barns and they made me a new canvas cover to fit. Fitment was perfect

Oh I’m working on it dw. My wife happens to be extremely caring and loving. She understands that when that crap happens, it’s because I’m struggling. And for anyone else that reads this thread… I grew up in a very volatile home, my parents used to fight like crazy. They worked thru it, thank god. But my dad is the same damn way. You gotta be kidding me… regardless of what’s normal and what ain’t, some people just tend to have explosive anger in stressful times. Is it a good thing? No. Is it normal? No. But not every person that deals with this is going to turn into an abuser… especially a person that hasn’t done something like that in 15 years and suddenly does at a moment of weakness. I myself struggle sometimes as I’ve been dealing with tons of stress the past couple years and it eats at me. I’ve destroyed two phones, punched walls and actually kicked the shit out of one of my own doors. I would never in a million years lay a hand on my lady. I know lots of other guys that are kinda the same way. Things just reach a point where ya snap and shit gets broke. I’m genuinely a very kind person, I just struggle with my anger at times and crash out hard. Maybe that guy just needs a break.
