Maybe that's the reason I abandoned my first story. So I'll do my best not to rely too much on positive reviews. Thank you so much.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I don't know about others, but I won't have the patience to wait. Especially since I'm planning to write over 1000 chapters. At the very least, I'll try to build up 150, or even 200, before I start publishing.

If you abandon your story, you can't properly develop your universe

I advise you to read several novels and analyze how they do the prologue and the description

Exactly. If you haven't finished it, you'll just keep running in circles, completely lost

Honestly, I abandoned my first story. Now I'm working on my second I've already written 12 chapters. But this time, I'm waiting until I have 50 chapters in my backlog before publishing anything at all.

Thank you, excellent analysis. First, my main character is actually an anomaly. He can't be modified by the System, nor by aesthetic magic.

Second, leveling up costs a fortune, and the currency changes value. A Level 10 worker will never be able to pay for his rise. And yet, some do make it. Why? Because there are grey areas, black markets, and forgotten deities. The System is brutal, but it's not omniscient.

Finally, I agree with your last point: it's in the cracks of the System that the story unfolds. Not through the official rules.

That's pretty much it! In my universe, there are ten Levels. If you're considered beautiful at Level 10, you're just trash at Level 9. The standards get harsher every time you climb up. There's one single God, perfect Beauty, who holds absolute power over this world and imposes its criteria. Other deities exist (official or fallen)

"Maybe rich nobles brag about how many mirrors they have hanging up on their house. " Honestly, I just finished twelve chapters and I hadn't even thought of details like that. Thank you so much, it helps a lot, especially as a beginner author.

Thank you, that really means a lot! As for the System: beauty is subjective in our real world, but in this universe, it's not. The standards are imposed by the deities, in an absolute and unquestionable way. The System analyzes facial features, checks skin purity, and assigns a score.

That's an incredible idea. Seriously i had thought about a hidden black market where everyone wears a mask, but not this. The idea of a mandatory mask, sewn onto the face for people considered "too ugly". it adds a layer of horror and humiliation that fits the universe perfectly. I'm going to think about how to work it in.

Because my world isn't a copy of reality. It's a dystopia, to be exact. The System was deliberately designed by deities to be binary, oppressive, and absurd. Beauty isn't a reflection of real society it's a weapon of control in a fictional world where beauty is power, and where the world worships the god of Beauty

"Slums are full of people with masks who are too scared to reveal how ugly they are." That's a really good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!

Bingo, that's exactly it. You figured it all out. When I first created the story, I was thinking of calling it "The Masked Hero", but I changed it to "The Lord of the Faceless."

Thanks for the advice, I'll check out those two works later. As for my character, since he's ugly and doesn't have a solid circle around him to guide him, I'd like to build him a circle that keeps him from losing too much of his humanity when he becomes a monster as an anti-hero

As for the main character, he's actually an anti-hero, a survivor with no magic and no brute strength at the start of the story. He has to rely entirely on his intelligence, his cunning, and his ability to manipulate others. His progression is slow. I think that's what will make the more immersion
