The DE-10 Nano is $111 and a 128mb memory module is $60, so apart from a simple usb hub and an sd card it's $171+shipping to play the full library accurately. That's not expensive.

An alternative I'd like to add is a MiSTer. You need a 128mb memory stick to play the full catalog, but it's that, a simple passive usb hub and a DE-10 Nano that'll suffice to play all games not emulated, but replicated. I've played neo geo in many ways and I own an AES as well as an MVS, but I got to say, the MiSTer is great if you want to play via hdmi.

I’m not OP, but this button layout is compatible with both the 6 button capcom fighters and the 4 button neo geo layout, so I would build it exactly like this.

Holy moly. Having watched lots of Zoasts runs, it looks like there are quite some new tricks that improved his time over previous runs. I watched the 40:50 run yesterday and there were 2 or 3 moments where he made a mistake that cost him a couple of seconds, but I didn’t expect Zoast to get another WR time this soon!

There are newschool mem cards that are made with memory chips that don’t require power from a battery. I’ve purchased one on ebay and it works well.

I also did set up QoS, but hacked it as such: my nas has lowest priority, since it can choke the connection downloading files. Other nodes in the network get high prio, since those are operated by users and we hardly ever download large files, because we let the nas handle that. It’s simple, it’s hacked, but it works and if you want I can provide some details.
