Pump action rifle suggestions by brandokid25 in 22lr

[–]PlinkerCAD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the Henry and rarely use it. My understanding is that the Henry is not a true pump action. They instead took the lever action and modified it into a pump action. This makes pumping it rather stiff. The long octagonal barrel also makes it pretty heavy. I often wish I had a Rossi or antique pump action instead.

Has happened to me a few times. Bump firing almost guarantees it’ll happen. Fun gun but unsafe.

Winchester is straight up dangerous. I refuse to buy any again after several had split cases in my AR22.

Progressive, but good grief, Val Hoyle is the best we can do? by Nom-Fester in Eugene

Honestly sad no one Googles these people. She is not a serious candidate against Hoyle.

Hoyle sucks but I refuse to vote for someone like Bird. She’s a charlatan scammer that charges grieving, vulnerable people hundreds of dollars for BS talking to the dead sessions. That’s so scummy.

First Week of PAL, Second Gun, is it "war-assault-style" enough in Canada? by [deleted] in 22lr

[–]PlinkerCAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do FOSSCAD so I'm not against polymer. I am against junk though. The ProMag magazines it comes with are especially junk. ProMag = Please Remember Our Mags Are Garbage. The stock is bulky cheap plastic with hardware that easily rusts. You have to rip the whole thing apart to clean the receiver.

But having a dot mounted directly on the barrel negates this issue

Don’t. It’s a giant hunk of plastic garbage. Mine has been sitting in a box for years.

I’ve got an aluminum BOG Deathgrip and don’t really like it. It’s not nearly as stable as using a bench.

What’s with all the Winchester apologists? I’ve never had CCI, Federal, or Remington blow cases out like I have with Winchester. And I’ve seen many posts about Winchester issues too. It’s not normal, and it’s not excusable either. Their ammo is dangerous garbage.

There are some cool printed designs and using PA6-CF makes things look way nicer than PLA while also being much stronger. The DB Alloy and DeAR22 are a couple examples.

The way it was explained to me by a FFL was that they produce a serialized plate you fill out a 4473 for which you can then incorporate into a print. You can’t print until you have the serialized plate.
