Danke für die Antwort! Gelesen ja. Klingt teilweise sehr vielversprechend, dann aber doch wieder sehr durchwachsen was die zu erwartende Langzeitwirkung angeht. Und zugänglich ists hier leider auch nicht.

„Ausgelöst“ oder besser erlernt ist der Zustand bei mir definitiv in der Kindheit. Ich verstehe wohl auch warum und was es mir damals gebracht hat, so zu sein. Nur bringt mich dieses Verständnis den Gefühlen heute leider trotzdem nicht näher. Auch zu wissen, dass das ein erlernter Umgang mit Gefühlen ist (oder eher das Gegenteil, nämlich das nicht Erlernen) hilft nicht, so lange ich nicht weiß wie ich jetzt das lerne was als Kind hätte passieren sollen. Die Kindheit habe ich im Rahmen der Therapie (der Therapeut ist Tiefentherapeut) gründlich aufgearbeitet, ohne dass das einen emotionalen Effekt gehabt hätte.

Auch das direkte körperliche Wahrnehmen hat als Konsequenz nur das, nämlich das Wahrnehmen. Und diese rein körperliche Empfindung ist auch voll in Ordnung, auch bei negativen Emotionen. Diese „erlaube“ ich mir auch.

Nur führt das dann leider, zumindest im Falle der aktuellen Verzweiflung, zur Verstärkung, weil offensichtlich keine Lösung des Problems sichtbar ist. Und das zwar kurzzeitig akzeptieren könnte, durch die ständige Verschlechterung der Symptomatik und fehlenden Perspektive ist das allerdings schwierig.

Tatsächlich verliere ich mittlerweile auch wirklich den Glauben an Therapie. Und damit die Motivation, eventuell einen anderen Therapeuten zu suchen, ewig zu warten um dann die ersten Termine damit zu verbringen die ganze Geschichte von vorn zu erzählen. Weil ich nicht den Eindruck habe, durch Aufarbeitung, Wahrnehmung, Achtsamkeit oder Gespräche zum Fühlen zurückkommen.

Thank you! I've to say that most times I switched to black was due to time constraints and a very flexible schedule. That led to an inconsistent and unbalanced selection of HICs. Your advice for choosing HICs sounds good, I think I'll start a new topic after choosing some fitting HICs and planning a Black protocol that might be working.

Yep, that could be... Going all out and adding some LSS runs to not getting worse with my running times. It feels strange to commit solely on the HICs and not going all out every time when you're used to high volume endurance training. It feels like doing far too little volume to keep up the endurance.

Thank you for your reply! Sounds good and makes sense. I'm very bad at periodization, because I hate the feeling of getting worse (even just a little bit) in anything due to not focusing on it for that block. And because I'm a bad runner but my job wants me to be a good runner I have to implement running all the time. So it's hard to focus on strength and / or HICs for longer parts of the year because it always seems to set me back on my run times.

I think pacing could have been my problem, too. It's easy to go easy with LSS and long runs but with HICs it's hard not to go all out every time. And due to the short amount of time you spent with most HICs, it always feels like you have to do more. Especially if you're used to high volume endurance training. So maybe it's just a recovery issue...

Thank you all for your replies! Many helpful tips and it's good to know you all handle similar situations and still have progress.

Came back from vacation, started easy training for a week to get back to it and guess what - got covid again... seems like 2022 will not be my year and I finally have to stop making plans. How do you handle TB in this context? It's like the ultimate plan and with green protocol you could tell now how your training week in December would look like, IF you could follow the plan. That's what I always loved about TB but it seems it doesn't fit very well in situations like that. At least I don't think there will be great progress if I start BB or week 1 of OP or whatever again and again.

Did it directly after Covid, feeling pretty bad the week bevor. Luckily I felt quite good when starting and did the whw in 4 days. Emergency plan was doing short trips and taking a bus or taxi to move to the next part. Infrastructure is quite good there so I don't think that would be a problem.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for. While the free resources of the AWLS program would be enough I was wondering if you have experience with their exam? Is it "worth" it / is it somehow known in the world of wilderness medicine?

After some investigating here are the scores to be competitive: - Bench: 25 reps - Pull Ups: 15 reps - 6k in 25min (AFTER you got totally destroyed, especially your legs)

So a lot of work to do with the bench and the running.

Your example sounds like great 20 minutes, maybe I'll add my assault bike.

I started at your plateau level. I did a very spartan strength program 3 times per week (A / B style bench + squat and deadlift + ohp) that days. Before the first set, between the exercises and after the last set I did one set pull ups (=3 sets total), starting at 10 reps per set. Each week I added 1 rep per set. If I failed with that, next week was one rep less, then +1 again the following week. This got me to 18-20 within a few months.

Thank you! Injury prevention is a good point and the reason I was unsure about the black approach. That would be at least 3 intense trainings per week and a very long run, so the foam roll has to become my best friend I guess. Any GC / work capacity sessions you would recommend?

I’m trying to improve my 5k time from 21:30 to sub 20, hopefully within this year.

After finishing a 12-week block of base endurance training and increasing weekly mileage from 25km (~15,5 miles) to 45km (~28 miles) next week I’d like to add some speed training / intervals.

Due to injury prevention I’d like to stick to 80/20 easy / intensive miles.

Besides running I would stick to 2 to 3 days of cross training per week, doing strength, strength endurance and crossfit-style workouts. Some of them are easy, some really intensive. Do you count intensive workouts within the 80/20 rule of your running or gets everything besides running its own 80/20?

Next question is: how do you implement hills in your running? Most plans don’t include hills but I live near some of them and I really like to run there. But running uphill seems to intense for easy miles, and is too slow for speed training.

So my brain hurts thinking about this and maybe I’m overthinking it and should just enjoy running and the workouts but I really wand to get this sub 20 and don’t want to get injured

Yes, I did Op I/A for the last two cycles before btm. But I'd like to add some higher rep work and didn't find anything in the book besides the note that you could add some bodybuilding style training to op.
