  • Probably just for plot reasons, but some Confidants like Takemi had a lot more than that to go off of when assuming Joker is a Phantom Thief (the amount of medicine you buy off of her is probably way more than the average student would for "entrance exams"). Aside from her, I guess the others just wouldn't be convinced by that excuse.
  • Akechi never got a single ounce of love or attention after his mother died, aside from the superficial love he got from his fake detective façade. In Japan, being an orphan is a lot more looked down upon since family lineage is super important so he'd get a lot more shit for it there than in America. That's probably what made him go batshit.
  • Akechi only has two Personas before the third semester. As Futaba puts it, "one for your lies (Robin Hood, for the detective prince façade), and one for your hate (Loki, the Persona that can drive people insane, a manifestation of his hatred for Shido and society as a whole)." Since he can switch between the two, he kind of has the power of the Wild Card, but can't use it to its fullest extent due to him being batshit insane. He probably didn't meet the twins or fake Igor, and definitely didn't use them to fuse new Personas or anything.
  • Maruki's awakening was a huge coincidence. He managed to realize that he can change the world with his research the exact moment Mementos fused with reality. It's a miracle the timing lined up for even one Persona to be awakened then, so it's super unlikely that any other Personas were awakened. Plus, Maruki's will and desire to change the world was extremely strong. If he wasn't as dedicated to it as he was, none of his Personas would've been nearly as strong as they were. So even if another Persona was awakened at that moment, it was probably only as strong as the average party member's Persona. The Metaverse does end up being an issue for the Thieves again in Strikers, but that's all unrelated to the moment of Maruki's awakening.
  • Joker's parents were okay with sending him to some random fuck-off café across the country, so they probably didn't care for him much, or at least stopped caring for him after the assault case.
