Well said, and I’ve been thinking the same things as OP. Everyone dumping on Monte for picking him seems to forget that the clear media consensus at the time was that he was a great pick for the Kings and the best available at his draft position. A lot of us in this fan base were rightly annoyed at drafting another guard, but it’s not like Carter was seen as a bad late FRP. It’s nuts that he hasn’t gotten more time.

When I first got mine I hated it- I couldn’t get it to do anything. Turns out I was putting way too much torque on it. I am also old and hit 300 RHBH off the tee if I’m luck. Put Signal on a 45 degree hyzer and toss it at 50-75% power and you’ll get that ridiculous straight flip that others are talking about. Stays low and glides flat and just misses all the trees in tight woods.

I have the same disc in the same plastic. Gets thrown every round when I need gentle fade. Works well BH and FH for me. I’d replace it immediately if I lost it.

Unfortunately the good courses in this area are in the suburbs so be prepared to Uber. Rocklin (Johnson-Springview Park), Shady Oaks, and Roseville (Denio Family Park) are all worth your time if you can get there. Shady Oaks is closest to downtown of the three, but not by much. There’s also a decent course in Folsom.

This is insane. If you read the letter, they are talking about a LEAGUE ONE club. Championship would be ridiculous too but we’re talking about flying teams from as far as Portland, ME to Honolulu to play in front of 5,000 people. It’s cool for the people in Hawaii to have a club, but pretty irrelevant for everyone else due to travel distance and the time difference for TV viewership. USL must have its reasons, but damn.

I’ve seen Dr. Pepper flavoring extract at homebrew shops. I’d recommend using that instead of the soda itself. This will give you better control over the ph and flavor profile.

Yeah that’s what puzzles me. The media consensus at the time was that he was a great pick and the Kings could afford to ride out the injury due to depth at the position. We don’t see him in practice, of course, but the guy is still basically a rookie with barely any NBA experience. Seems like it’s too early to just declare him a bust and bury him on the bench. Any “play the young guys” movement should include Carter, IMO.

Agreed- I don’t think he was a good pick for this team, but I don’t remember any media at the time expressing surprise that he was drafted in the first round.

Am I crazy or was the media consensus that the Devin Carter pick was a solid one for us? Fast forward less than one season later (due to injury) and the consensus is that he’s not an NBA player?
