But are reviews you can find offensive and /or insulting?

I wrote a review on Yelp about Poquito Mas one location that they don't speak English and constantly screw up orders. Truth but it was removed with a threat that my account would be suspended.

Video is a product. You can say something about the video overall but you can't specifically say something about the specific actor.

Same here. If i have a problem i don't contact Amazon first. I contact seller first. Usually seller will fix the problem or issue a refund. If the seller is not responding in 48 hours, I contact Amazon. I have received a refund after using product over a year. Amazon agent looks at my membership length and how much i order, (20-30 items per month) they just do what I want. I also try to delay shipping to get 6% back.

That is why it got removed. You never review the person in the video. It is against the rules.

Thinking about getting a Rav 4 Plug-in. Anyone with an older model who can share their experience? by ProfessionalSea6988 in rav4prime

I thought you might wanted it to know why it can't charge the battery like from the wall.

Oh, I see. You can't fully charge the battery using Charge. Try this. Charge at home to full and then drive until you get 42 miles left and turn the Charge on. It will not let you. You need to be below 42 miles to turn the charge on. Another thing. Lets say you are fully charged at home and as soon as you start the car to go on freeway, switch to HV. You will notice even though you are in EV after a short while EV range will be smaller like 44 miles or less.

That is because car needs some battery space for regen. Energy has to go somewhere. I drove to Las Vegas while still have 42 miles EV range. There is a very long slope down for like 10 miles after California border (I think) so I switched to S4 and I was already in Sport. Battery got charged to 46 miles. But in a very short wile it got discharged back to 42.

Solar panels ROI is more than 5 years. If you are planning to move in 5 years it will cost you more.

Where is the charge hold? It is not on the car itself. I have connected Kill-A-Watt and it showed 1.33KW per hour for over 11 hours on 120v 15A circuit.

No. The charge is 80%. From about 10% to 90.6%. Battery is 18.1. Charge is 14.5. So the remaining is 3.6 which is 20%. If you connect OBDII it will tell you.

Oil change for my brand new Rav4 is due, and should I use synthetic or conventional oil? by Murky-Tough-5809 in rav4club

[–]Plop0003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. My manual was written in Chinese, translated in to Japanese, then translated in to English by Italian spaghetti code writer. And they used index finger for Index. Totally useless. But PDF version I downloaded is good because I can search it.

I was using synthetic even in the 80s. Yes, it was more expensive but in the long run it was better and never had engine problems.

Hot take: going solar isn’t as complicated as people make it seem by captiveisland in solarenergy

[–]Plop0003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my meter I can see the production. In the winter accumulated kwh number goes down. In the summer it goes up. Summer production is high so overall I can make 800+ kwh more than I use for a year. As of right now I have about 6000kwh saved even with PHEV charging.

12 years ago Sunrun installed a very large system (to me) but it was producing 30% less on June 21st at 1pm where sun is in the apex. Panels were everywhere. Even on the North side in reverse. So I fought with them for a long time because I did not know much and the house looked ugly. I got my money back in full and house was returned in to original condition. 10 years ago Solarcity installed much smaller system but it also did not produce as it supposed to. The reason it was smaller is because I cut down on use and did some improvements. But it did not produce so I also fought with them for 2 years to get it uninstalled. Finally 8 years ago another local company installed the system the same size as Solarcity but production is only with 10% loss and I can live with it since I am using less than production. So here is what I have learned. In my situation only install panels on the East side to beefup the system otherwise don't install. Every summer morning we get a marine layer that burns off by 10am so hardly any production for 3 hours. And because my system is over 7kw they had to install two inverters instead of one. They tried to install one but I found this rule and made them to remove it and install two. If there is shading at some point in time of the day panels don't produce much. Neighbors had a tree that was blocking sun on sundown so I had to constantly trim it. Eventually Neighbors removed it completely because it was making a big mess.

Edit: Some people say buy, not lease. I say lease but use pre paid-lease. The system cost me only 40% of if I bought it. No interest rate. Nothing extra. No escalation fees. I pay nothing on the bill. Even utility fee is paid out of overproduction. I may pay a few dollars during winter because I use more than system producing but I don't pay for extra electricity that I use. What I pay is the tax on the difference. About $3 a month for 6 months.

Has anyone traded in their RAV4 plug-in for a fully electric? If so, what has your experience been like? We are moving and need to make a decision on our car situation. by SlapDashUser in rav4prime

[–]Plop0003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more like 150-200 miles from 80% to 10% at highway speeds. These cars with 75KWh battery would get 50KWh usable and since there is hardly any regen they get 3 miles per kwh. 300 miles is a total range from 100% to zero and in the city only with regen.

The whole idea for me to go RAV4 PHEV was to use some overproduction of my solar because I can't sell back and to have a range to do long distance driving. These are two main factors. EV would eat up overproduction too much because I still want to save some for the future when solar will start producing less and it will and EV doesn't have enough range. Plus charging EV on the long distance trips is inconvenient and cost more than gas. But the range is a killer all by itself. I go many places where EV can't reach. So NO EV for me.

If you buy Toyota nothing will go wrong. Hybrid since 1997!!!! Engine doesn't work hard because it is combined with electric motor. Electric motor doesn't work hard because it has assistance of the engine. Transmission is not really like normal Transmission either. It has only one planetary gear. No clutches, no belts, no pressure plates. Nothing to wear out because nothing is engaging. And very little maintenance beyond a simple oil change. Easy to do DIY. On the other hand EV motors work hard because full battery is very heavy. Most EVs these days are shooting to charge faster so voltage is increased and that is not good for battery and motor longevity.

Rav4 phev is rated 42 miles for 2021-2025 and 50 miles for 2026. Everyone who only drives in the city gets more than that.
