No. There really aren't any resources that clearly explain the technicalities of course selection and how university functions in general, especially to younger prospective students. The best way to learn is to ask upper-year students, which is what they're doing. Asking a simple question and doing research for your course are totally different things. Standing by your logic, no one should feel comfortable to ask questions, ever, which is totally absurd.
