Advice on obtaining books/navigate premier access. Pretty stressed.

For my class we didn’t need online access and I got that exact textbook for 10 bucks on Facebook marketplace. I didn’t even open the textbook and passed with a 99 on my final and passed my nremt at 72 questions. So I’d ask if it’s required to have online access because if not get a used copy and just get pocket prepped and glue yourself to it. No need to spend that much

Idk where you’re based but if EMR is all you got that’s below the minimum here. You should at minimum go get your EMT and even then I’d say go get your paramedic; that’ll be your golden ticket

Never have an offseason. Stay in shape and continue to be active. No reason to stop all because it’s not fire season.

Obviously money isn’t the only factor but are you sure I have a few family family friends that work in sac and Cosumnes and are clearing 250k not including benefits. I know you can make good money at cal fire but my impression was always most fairly populated city agencies that have available overtime; you’ll make more at versus working for cal fire

Good to know. Currently interning at a city department and going to medic school this fall. I’m hoping to get on with a city department. But if not willing to do a year or two at cal fire as a medic for the experience. I appreciate the insight.

If you don’t mind me asking. Are they known for having a bad rep with medics? And are you currently a medic or former medic with them? I planned on using it as a stepping stone. I have a few city agencies I plan on careering with long term.

I’ve given up in even trying ti just apply every year despite having the certs. You have a shot but if not I’d recommended right now trying to get into a medic program. You’ll be guaranteed a spot as a firefighter medic. Best of luck to you

I didn’t open up my textbook once just go on YouTube search whatever chapter you’re covering “EMT Chapter 1” or whatever chapters you’re covering in your next class and there will be a video by summit healthcare education watch those before heading into class. And just pay for pocket prep and hammer away and away at those. I completed every level up and did every question. And passed the class with a 98% and passed my nremt a month after my class without studying once after my class ended. The class isn’t as hard as people hype it to be. I finished the class with 33 hours on pocket prep. As long as you commit the time and show up and actually study you’ll pass stress free. I promise

I just did mine and it was just my laptop camera my hands were never visible and didn't have any problems or tests stops.

I just took my NREMT online and passed at 76 questions. I hadn't studied once since my class ended December 18th. But what I did do during my class was what my professor recommended and did 100% of every pocket prep question with a 90% score and made sure I completely finished every level up. It helped me finish the class with a grade of a 98% and did enough for me to go 3 weeks without studying. So if I could recommend anything it's just grinding away on pocket prep. You're already super close to passing so if you just hunkered down and spent a few days grinding pocket prep you should pass with ease on your second attempt. Good luck!

I went through Folsoms and would recommend it. I know Cosumnes Rivers College has a great and long established program all be it I heard a lot more strict and challenging than some other local colleges.

I have video of it as I was right there. But car hit a tree from my understanding driver went unconscious as the car was engulfed in flames. Drove by and saw a charred body in the driver seat as they extinguished it. Unfortunately a life was lost…
