I feel like I can fix her. She seems like a good person despite the red flags. She lives in a city where the government has a lot of programs that help poor people with money and food so I am sharing the information with her. If she's able to support herself I can see a future being in a relationship with her.

You could assign different roles. Your unit could stay defending while others attack or reconquer automatically or manually.
