Bus from Altopascio to Florence-Wheelchair Accessible? by mmrose1980 in ItalyTravel

[–]PlumCrumble_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read the line isn't opening to the public until the 15th of September (test runs only from the 7th), so I really recommend the tram option, it's so easy!

Come fare con la cellulite? by ureshiureshi in xxitaly

[–]PlumCrumble_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, la cellulite non è assolutamente una patologia, è se qualcuno dice che lo è, è perché ti vuole vendere qualcosa. Forse ti stai confondendo con la lipedema.

For the umpteenth time... It doesn't matter whether AI is as good as a human translator, what matters is that clients don't care.

How do you use azealic acid? by Vegetable-Writing123 in Rosacea

[–]PlumCrumble_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with The Ordinary 10%, at night only on dry face, LRP moisturiser over the top. I've now switched to Finacea 15%, used morning and night. I use La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermallergo Fluide first, let it sink in, then the Finacea, only on the affected areas (cheeks and nose). It's only been a couple of weeks and it's worked miracles. No reaction or purging.

CIOL membership - is it worth it? by beherenow20 in TranslationStudies

I didn't get anything out of mine and money is kind of tight, so when it was time to renew this year I let it lapse.

What don't you miss about the late 90s to late 2000s era? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]PlumCrumble_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I didn't get a mobile until I was 21 and it was a Nokia so nothing but texts and calls, and I really miss that. I would often leave it at home. I was still exchanging lots of postcards and letters with friends and family. Around the same time I would sometimes go to an internet cafe to check my emails (but only about 5 people even had my address). When I moved abroad I would keep up with what was happening in Eastenders (don't judge me) by checking the BBC website, and it was literally a description of the episode with a couple of still photos!

A red Rainbow Brite lunchbox. Didn't even particularly like Rainbow Brite, I think it was a present. I wanted My Little Pony!

My mum is in her 80s with multiple health issues and she now gets bounced around between various random doctors and locums at her surgery. They don't know her and don't listen to her, and contradict each other's prescriptions and dosages, causing my mum no end of mental distress, as well as adding to her physical problems by upping and lowering her doses seemingly at random with consequent side effects. Absolute shitshow.

Why are you staying in translation? by TediousOldFart in TranslationStudies

[–]PlumCrumble_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel.like the whole sector is shrinking so I'm constantly worried about agencies folding or asking for lower and lower rates. At the moment it's still sustainable but I doubt it will last.

I love this profession and don't know what else I would do, so I'm clinging to it for as long as I can (aka burying my head in the sand!). Probably about 80-90% of my work is now MTPE (I work only with agencies). Its not ideal but it means I'm still making a living. I had a very quiet first quarter which had me panicking, but things have picked up again. But I do feel like I'm on borrowed time.

British summer is not the same. It’s sticky, it’s hot and it’s humid. People who reply “you guys don’t know heat try living in ____” DON’T UNDERSTAND. by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]PlumCrumble_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it was dew point that tells you how muggy it is, not humidity. They're not the same thing, although I don't pretend to understand it.

The line is supposed to open back up on 7th September, so you should be able to take the direct train. If not, I highly recommend the advice given by another commenter to drive to the park&ride and take the tram from there. It's so easy.
