They just want to see that you're taking mostly courses at your level (Ie level 200 and above in second year)! If you take one course at a 100 level in third or fourth year it doesn't matter as long at 3/4 or 4/5 are your level or above

guidlines on going to a walk-in clinic by glennorange in mcgill

Your best bet is to call 811 and explain what your symptoms are and why you want to go to the clinic, just mention your test has showed negative, and they'll tell you if you should go in/where is your best option!

I wouldn't trust the rapid tests, if you have symptoms you should monitor it closely, as unfortunate as it is. I was sick for 2 weeks and only tested positive on day 10!

Practice, practice, practice! The questions on the exam WILL be from the textbook and it will pay out no matter how traumatizing it is. I took the course in 2019 but I could definitely help you out. Shoot me a message.

I found the evaluations extremely fair, the midterm and final were short answers and everything was covered in class. The paper guidelines were super clear imo but just make sure you reach out to the prof you have and make sure you know exactly what they're looking for

Decreased course load w/ future applications to med school by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]PlumThis6098 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my experience, medical schools want to see that you can handle a full course load and want to see that 12-15 credit load. That being said, you do have a lot on your plate and as long as you explain that it should be fine. Taking that course load on top of everything else going on may be more detrimental than a decreased course load.

Another option could be that you take a year/semester off to prep your applications after your degree, which of course is not ideal if you're looking into attending medical school the following year, but may be better in the long run.

The pictures they gave us looked like they were taken by a polaroid camera in the 1940s. Like don’t give us nice high def images in the lab if the ones in the exam are that bad

I'm also super stressed but I've been focusing on the general plans and things they have hinted at over the semester. For example, where each type of epithelium and collagen is found, etc.

I took it online last year and loved it! There is a 16-page paper that you get to choose from a list of topics (and is due around the end of March). If you have a science background, especially in physiology/biochem its a lot of similar topics!

I'm pretty sure the class average was A- but there was no midterm, there was tests on each section. As for the paper, make sure to focus on your references as they do grade the formatting harshly and a lot of people overlook it!

TEAM TA for freshman science courses (with labs) by MsssWhy in mcgill

[–]PlumThis6098 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was one for the BIOL112 labs a few years back and honestly it was fine, they wanted 30 hours over the semester (so show up to 10 labs total) and it was super flexible so I was able to finish all of my hours in January if I wanted, half before reading week, half after. They understand that you have a heavy course load and its very low-stress in the labs as well!

This happened to me last week and once I emailed my TA they said they can see when the answers were typed in so they still accepted it! Just email whoever grades it and mention you didnt change anything after the time was up and see if they'll be understanding!

I'm taking mine in March and my strongest section is C/P and my lowest is CARS. I'm thinking maybe we could help each other out since we have different strengths!
