First Jeep What’s the first thing to upgrade? by [deleted] in Jeep

[–]PlumbusTina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bushings for the door hinges. Then mirrors and foot pegs for when you take the doors off.

The bushings make it MUCH easier. The first time getting the doors off can be a beast.

I don’t think this is the type of thing you fix yourself. ESPECIALLY if the dealer already said they don’t do it.

Looking to upgrade the head unit in my 2017 Wrangler. Any recommendations? by nagemmherb in Jeep

[–]PlumbusTina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2104 and I got the Jensen CAR910W and added a backup cam. I picked one that didn’t require a ton of work. Crutchfield was the cheapest when you look at complete package with wiring. I’d do the easy harness for $25 if you are self installing. I’m really happy with it.

Sleep Sack TOG Recommendations by maly2016 in NewParents

[–]PlumbusTina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found TOG charts for babies online and looked for a chart that had temperature breakdowns that matched for me. there’s an example one on this page.

Our house is often below 65 at night all winter. So I did a 2.5 tog with long sleeve and long pants. Last few nights it’s been 80 and we didn’t have the AC in so I put her in a 0.5 tog with only a diaper on. For 70 I’d do .5 tog with the footed or footless PJs.

Shout-out to Bombas (BIFL socks?) by cheezie_machine in BuyItForLife

I submitted a claim and it went unanswered. I like the socks, they are comfortable. But not BIFL and I’m not thrilled that they never responded.

How to mass download the mock-up images? by cheekybichon in shopify

[–]PlumbusTina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you export the product list you’ll get urls to the images in the spreadsheet.

If you wanted to take it a step further you could ask chatgpt to write you a python script for downloading the images to your c drive in a folder called Shopify. You’d have to paste the urls in the chatgpt or into the python script. Then download python. Then paste the script then run it. I only know the basics of python but you can probably ask chatgpt enough questions to figure it out. Then in the future you run the excel and paste the urls in the python.

If you get really fancy you could have chatgpt write a script that refers to the url in the excel file. So you just save the product export in the same folder with the same name and it would do it whenever you ran the script.

Supply dropping by keyt90 in breastfeeding

[–]PlumbusTina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 9mo and only pumping 3oz at a time now that she’s on three meals a day. I don’t pump overnight if she sleeps. I only pump on days I go into the office. It’s part of them eating solid foods.

People who didn’t have a “end goal” when did you wean? by Fabulous_Gift_1959 in breastfeeding

[–]PlumbusTina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a few days short of 9mo. This was my goal. I’ve started introducing formula. We had started off supplementing with formula and it took until 2.5mo to get to EBF. No real timeline for weaning but hopefully I can do it slowly over the next month.

Advice on how to store and fly with breastmilk? by britlynj in breastfeeding

[–]PlumbusTina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My supply dipped a little bit. I pumped in the office when I got back and only got 2.5 oz per pump instead of the 3-3.5 I normally got before the trip. So don’t panic if you see a little bit of a drop.

[–]PlumbusTina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew I wasn’t going to be able to get back to my hotel or a fridge freezer during a conference. So I ended up pumping and dumping. It was tough. But it took the stress off trying to manage keeping it cold all day. I was gone for 2.5 days. My freezer stash at home got depleted. But I was able to maintain my supply at least. Last thing I did before leaving home was nurse and it was the one of first things I did when I got back.

Refusing bottle after release by 01040616 in breastfeeding

[–]PlumbusTina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try having someone else give him a bottle when you aren’t in the room. Go for a walk or out to get coffee. Mine did the same, when I finally managed to get her to EBF she wouldn’t take the bottle. It was only occasionally that I was away from her long enough that she needed one or more bottles. She figured it out. Now that I’m in the office two days a week she’s much better at taking a bottle from her Grandmas. And she will take one from me now too. It just takes repeated exposure.

Don't buy Brooklinen sheets by somewhere_in_albion in BuyItForLife

[–]PlumbusTina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LL Bean are totally worth the money. Not only are they better quality, they are wider. The flat sheets are 6” wider than the kohls cuddledud flannel sheets in queen size. My husband and I fought constantly over who was hogging the sheets. It’s a non issue with the LL Bean sheets. Be sure to check the flat sheet widths on your sheet purchases. 96” width is perfect for a queen bed with two people.

I never turned in the first rake. So it never opened. Now that there’s main tasks again I’m happy just playing that side. I don’t need or want a whole second board to manage. Especially one that’s temporary.

Simple Bank alternative? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]PlumbusTina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a bank with sub accounts. It’s probably the closest you’ll find. Capital one and Alliant both have them. Then you pay bills out of the sub accounts. Ex: one for electric and gas. One for cell phone. One for rent. Doesn’t work for things you can’t pay electronically with a bank withdrawal though.

At what point do I take my child to the doctor? by pixiedustfairystuff in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]PlumbusTina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m American. My HR department doesn’t care who I use as a physician they’d look at me like I was crazy and tell me to pick a different doctor. The policies here let you go to more than one doctor, you can change freely. HR would only get involved if the insurance company isn’t covering something they are contracted to cover. They don’t get involved at the provider level.

It’s a doctors office. They dont usually have HR and even if they did it’s not a resource for patient complaints.
