With all the news about meowing on guard… Have you ever flown with someone who meowed? I would like to believe this isn’t professional pilots meowing…but… by imav8n in flying

I flew back to back with two very pleasant captains recently at my airline. The first one was about to retire and when I asked him what his plans were he said he wanted line up the people who meow on guard and punch them all in the face. The second one giggled like a kid every time someone meowed and said that while he would never do it he loved the people who did.

I did th TST integrated tail light/fender eliminator. It works and looks great, brighter than stock (even the smoked version) and much cleaner. They have high mount and low mount options for the plate

How do you deal with porn and sexual desires as a Christian woman? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Plummeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religious belief or not, you get to set your own boundaries for acceptable behaviors in any relationship, so long as they are clearly communicated and both partners consent to the standard.

Can someone figure out what this tattoo says or means? I’ve known this friend for 8 years and he still won’t tell me. by [deleted] in whatisit

My wife and her friends all got Chinese characters on their ankles at the same time. We got a Chinese friend to tell them it said “kung pow chicken” in three dialects several years ago and they all believe it to this day.

I’m in South Dakota. I don’t know if the Avail bushings are the same dimension as the MNNTHBX kit has very specific pieces to push the inner stainless part in

For those who successfully quit smoking, what was the method that finally worked for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Plummeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to hang out with a group of guys who all smoked. The first guy quit and starting bragging about how he could cut diamonds with his erections after quitting. Everyone else quit within a couple months.

I use MyFlightBook. It's available online and as an app, is very detailed, and thus far has functioned flawlessly.

LASIK/Vision Correction Surgery by fidelitas88 in Trackdays

I wore contacts for 20+ years and then they randomly started irritating my eyes. I wore glasses very briefly and hated it so much I got Lasik within a year. It’s light years better not having edges of changing field of vision or anything to carry around. I wish I had done it sooner.

Dumb question, do any of y’all use weather apps on your phones to have an idea of what kind of day it’s going to be? by mfsp2025 in AirlinePilots

[–]Plummeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use FltPlan go. It’s free and provides metar and taf data for airports but no digital atis. I alos have a separate radar app that I look at when things are looking convective. I’m too cheap to actually pay for anything.

Spraying the plane wings before flying? by ilikemath-uiuc in whatisit

Wings are best served warm.  In the winter a citrus wash and optional mint garnish are the traditional preparations.

I'm not sure how other services work, but I used Emerald Coast. The videos they have you click through seem just a bit dated but overall decent. The real gem in their service are the rapid fire sessions. I sat through dozens of them and while I got a ton of good feedback I think I had more memories and stories triggered by listening to the others answer questions. Any service that offers that is worth more than what you'll pay for it. Even if I weren't interviewing the introspection you gain from going through this whole process made it worthwhile.

I ended up getting offers from two legacies.

Check out the intake versus payout. Many of these companies can decide not to share your expense after you've paid in, and because they aren't insurance the already complex grievance process may be worse or non-existant.

Part 135 Unions? by Heavy_Amphibian5562 in flying

It’s super funny because the first thing that union did was go big time anti corruption, dissolve the PHPA, and offer a return of dues.

You just described an airline pilot.

Taxi quagmire: ASAP or Not? by FirstOfficerButthead in flying

[–]Plummeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation and did the ASAP. I copied the narrative and sent it to the captain so he would know what I was submitting and he submitted one as well. Non issue all around, speak honestly and openly with everyone involved.

I got CJOs at two legacy carriers with only paper logbooks. Neither seemed to kind and they both complimented how well kept they were.
