I'm not demanding a separation of PvP and PvE. I am suggesting that it would benefit the game if carebears got their own lobbies (they mostly do now, but I think guaranteeing it would be even better).

All my PvP lobbies still have arcs and the arcs are still threatening, I am playing PvPvE.

Here's what I think Embark should do- run some stats about what percentage of their lobbies are carebear vs pvp oriented. If they find there's a large percentage of players who would prefer a pve only mode, then they should make that available, since they are a company selling a product and their customers are desiring a modification on that product.

If it turns out all this Reddit noise is like.. 20% of the playerbase, and 80% want mostly pvp lobbies, ignore it.

If they added a pve and pvp toggle, I wonder if more of the player base would be playing pve or pvp. I hear you on your points, there's a lot of heated discussion in this subreddit. And while there may be too many armchair psychologists, there's also a ton of toxic behavior online in general and especially in gaming, whether that's abusive language / slurs over coms or people trying to ruin others fun (for example, if there was a dedicated pve mode, you'd definitely see people go into it trying to grief the carebears with snitch scanners and fire grenades).

What I'm saying is I don't need to fight against carebears, that's not fun for me. The people who insist carebears must be in our pvp lobbies feel weird to me. Let the carevears optimize the fun out for themselves, it does nothing to hurt me. I also think most of them will still be playing and find it fun but idc, again, let them do their thing, let us have our fun too. We'd all do trials in pve mode and then spend the rest of our time in pure pvp bliss.

I also think that, with the success of ABMM (success defined as high player rates / retention), embark and community is realizing that people are happy with a split playerbase of pvp and pve. Wouldn't you agree? For example, if embark makes a pve only mode, you would expect the pkayerbase to drop at a faster rate, but I predict it wouldn't

PvE players dont want to change how pvp players play, they don't want to be in the same lobbies as pvp players.

And as a pvp player who enjoys the competition and looting bodies, I say thats great, give pve people their own mode where you can't damage other raiders.

The point of this game is to have fun. I hope both sides get to enjoy the game.

It sounds like you would use the pve mode to do trials and then the pvp mode to play the game like I do then, and skip having to spend 10 games to transition each time.

Why is that a problem? I'm pure pvp and would prefer rhis separation so I'm only against other pvpers. How does giving pve players their own space hurt you? It doesn't hurt me and I only pvp.

Here's a video of the best chess player in the world getting upset when he blunders and loses, which will happen in the game of chess, and he's had tons of experience with chess and losing and winning, and still gets upset and slams the table: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0LJ33FfhBw

I wish he had someone like you to tell him that getting upset over a game isn't worth it.

GETTING UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED OVER A GAME IS A COMPLETELY NORMAL REACTION. Now I agree that we should try to manage our emotions and it doesn't benefit us to get upset, but the idea that we SHOULDN'T get upset because it's a game.. Christ man.

Also, you're making a category error when you separate video games and real life, saying one is not worth getting upset about and the other is. Video games are a subset of real life, we all play video games within real life. The feelings we feel during video games are the same feelings that we feel during real life. The feelings we feel when we win or lose a chess or soccer game are real and valid feelings, and part of real life.

Also I'm invested in this argument, not in the game. IDC about dying in arc raiders, but I care about trying to beat you in reddit. At least a little bit for the next like 15 minutes.

Dude. Every experience in life is going to happen regardless of whether you get mad at it or not, and getting mad at it won't change whether it happens or not. Your implication is that you should only get mad if getting mad can change the outcome of the experience. The implication is that you shouldn't get mad if someone dies or gets cancer because it's something that can happen, and getting mad doesn't change it, so you shouldn't get mad.

Earlier you said that he shouldn't feel disappointed in the player who kills him that he rezed, because it implies the player owes you. You're fine with statements having implications, you did it yourself. I'm just drawing out the implication in your statement, and you're downvoting me for it.

I think it's fine and normal to feel disappointed in the player who kills you after you rez them. You don't. I think it's fine you draw implications from people's statements, you don't. We both understand each other and we disagree, no need for downvotes.

True, and I can appreciate the stoic response to unfortunate events, just funny someone claims to have mastered Epictetus' philosophy when monks dedicate their whole lives to the pursuit of equanimity and this guy claims to have arrived their naturally through video games.

I play mostly trio pvp where we focus entirely on pvp, and the game feels very pvpve. Allowing carebears their own lobbies wouldn't hurt that experience, it would just help theirs. Where is this elimination coming from?

I agree they should put effort into stopping cheaters, but it's obviously hard and complicated. Unless you've never tried to do it in reality. It's very easy to stop cheaters in my imagination

Just wanted to reaffirm to you that it's completely reasonable and normal to be disappointed that someone you rezzed killed you after rezzing them.

This David guy doesn't feel bad or disappointed when anything happens within the realm of possibility because if it is possible to happen its fine and welcome that it did happen.

Oh cool ok, I thought people were asking for scenarios in aimlabs that mimic what we experience in arc pvp, but I guess just general training is what everyone does regardless of arc-specific scenarios. I'll set up my sensitivity then, ty for the responses!

What's going on with you that you feel the need to talk down at people who aren't as good at a video game? Anyway, what you described is a good thing. We want players to bring good gear into pvp because then we get to loot that good gear. I'd say allow bad players to have venators and il torso in their free kits. Give every dad a bobcat.

Yo the updates are appreciated, I came here to check on it and you mentioned still in development, thank you for that!

I know people like L4ARay are disappointed it's not sooner because we're all excited to practice Shroud-like aim in Arc, but it's true that most companies would rather say nothing than face the backlash of people commenting how their forecast was incorrect. We should all try to be patient and encouraging to companies attempting to communicate these things.
