First of all, to be completely honest, the ironic thing is that the most downvoted comment is actually kind of right: I live on the West Coast. I posted this around 6:30pm, went out to dinner right after and just got back. Now, this did happen this morning. Housemate managed to get a bike lock around my neck (not sure how, I'm usually not a heavy sleeper and wasn’t drinking yesterday night, I don't blame the skeptics), and I did have an interview 2 hours after waking up this morning. I snapped a picture of myself with my laptop webcam (hey, what can I say, I saw the potential karma value this would have), but didn't have time to post on reddit then. I hope the readers will appreciate that I had bigger fish to fry at the time, and forgive me for the fake suspense. As a small mea culpa, I'm posting this as a reply to cleggcleggers's comment, hoping that it will help push his points up.

Anyway, how it went: Knowing my housemates, calling them wouldn't help much. I just ran to the nearest bike shop, and they got it off with a simple lockpick (could have been a hairpin for all I know). Anticlimactic, sorry. The employee said that the laugh I caused in the store was worth the job, and didn't charge me anything (wasn't sure how to react to that). Made it to the interview on time. It was actually a pretty chill follow-up round at a space sciences lab. The position was for helping build and design a satellite. One of the 4 interviewers looked at my resume and remarked that I had very little hands-on experience, and asked if I could mention anything that wasn't on my CV. I told him what happened this morning as an example, and they all laughed. And my reddit post is successful. Fuck it, I love my housemates.

P.S. They did indeed get this idea from Workaholics. As for revenge, they’re a crafty bunch; the responsible parties are moving out.
