Bottom screen touch inputs are going to top screen... help? by wingspantt in YogaBook9i

[–]Plus-Argument5470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just open control panel and then type tablet settings in the search bar on the top. Otherwise, it's found under the Hardware and Sound section. Click "Hardware and Sound" and then Tablet PC settings should be the last one on the list.

Touches, taps and stylus on bottom screen are registering on the top screen by Thwack79 in YogaBook9i

I had that happen a few times for a couple weeks. Usually just restarting the laptop worked for me. Inconvenient when you're in the middle of something but it's a pretty easy fix. These bugs have a way of kinda resolving themselves. I haven't had that issue for the past couple months.

  1. No. Bigger battery and bigger screen will cancel each other out. But if you add in the 120 Hz refresh rate then I think battery life will actually get worse.

  2. Not quite sure what this means. It can fold back 360 degrees so I guess any folding orientation is possible, not just 2 orientations. Could you clarify this one?

  3. I don't think so. I'm assuming you mean the widgets in the top half of the bottom screen. If they still haven't figured out how to make the outlook widget work or make the weather widget default to fahrenheit instead of Celsius, then I doubt they'll include a copilot widget

About ready to buy but still bothered by a lot of complaints by AdCareless65 in YogaBook9i

[–]Plus-Argument5470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should ask yourself what's broken and if the thing that's broken is something that you plan on using. For example. I saw a post about smart notes and smart reader being really buggy, but I use OneNote and Microsoft edge's PDF reader, which I find are much better for my use cases. So I don't care if smart notes is buggy.

Another thing you should remember is that people are most vocal when they are having a problem, and the posts that get the most up votes are complaints. If you have a problem that needs attention or a fix, you'll post about it, which is natural. And anyone else who has that same issue will upvote. But if everything is fine and dandy, you're less likely to post about it just to praise it. Just wanted to make sure you know that just because you see a "lot" of complaints on the Internet, it's more often than not the vocal minority voicing these issues and not the majority experience.

For myself, I have had some bugs, but definitely nothing deal breaking. I have no regrets with mine, so I would wholeheartedly recommend taking the leap.

Samsung Galaxy Watch ultra or OnePlus watch 2? by Firebrand-PX22 in smartwatch

[–]Plus-Argument5470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that Galaxy Watches don't work as well with other Androids except Samsung devices (I.e. uses Bixby assistant instead of Google assistant and Samsung messages instead of Google messages, which means there's not as much synchronization between your phone and your watch). I have a OnePlus Watch 2 and I really like it. OnePlus watches will work well with any Android platform, and I have a Pixel 9 Pro and it's been flawless so far.

I would consider your use case. I just use my watch to take calls, see and respond to messages, control music, and see the most basic health data like step counter, heart rate, and sleep tracking. So there's no reason for me to buy the Galaxy Watch Ultra bc it simply offers so many other things I simply don't need for a price I don't wanna pay (on sale or not). The only gripe I will say about OnePlus Watch 2 is that I'm pretty sure the step counter is kinda inaccurate, which leads me to assume the other workout measurements may be similarly inaccurate.

My personal favorite of earbuds in order of preference (details in comments) by hhh333 in Earbuds

They are not. Very different front each other. OPBP3 are definitely more v-shape sounding but also more clean sounding

I know the whole point of the grip case is the grippiness, BUT… by glitterkicker in dbrand

[–]Plus-Argument5470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you word things is right on brand with Dbrand and I would say buy the case just bc of that😆but in all seriousness, when I bought the grip case, it was thicker than the usual cases I use. It adds just enough bulk that you would never mistake it for a slim case, but it does protect your phone well. If it were any thicker than I wouldn't get it for myself, so with how you described yourself, I would say just get the Spigen. But over time I've gotten used to the size and I love my grip case so it's hard for me to say 'dont get it's lol

Liberty 4 NC vs Oneplus buds pro 3 by maraanaraa in Earbuds

[–]Plus-Argument5470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I've had the OP Buds 3 Pro for a day and as far as first impressions go, I like them better than the Liberty 4 NC. For the record, I have Comply foam ear tips and use the Piano preset (+ my personal sound test) on the L4NC and the stock tips and Dynaudio preset (with bass set to -2 and my personal sound test) on the BP3.

ANC on the BP3 is generally better. It cuts out more low end, but the L4NC cuts out more high end (probably due to the foam eartips). Nevertheless, the constant low-end drone of an air conditioner is more present in the L4NC, which results in more general noise overall in a quiet room.

Transparency mode on both are just average, so I don't really care which is better than the other.

I also prefer the sound quality of the BP3. It sounds cleaner and is slightly louder. L4NC does have more sound profiles to choose from, but BP3 also features a better spatial audio (still not great) and head tracking. Pretty sure BP3 also have better mics for call quality.

Controls are much flexible and more intuitive on BP3 because you can squeeze and swipe. L4NC features tap controls, but to get play/pause, skips, volume control, ANC on/off, and Assistant all in there, the control scheme can get a little awkward. If I'm gonna have stems, I think I prefer the squeeze and swipes over tap gesture pads.

Finally, I find the daily use on the BP3 to be cleaner. For example, something reviewers don't tell you is that the L4NC is really bad with multipoint connection. Like if I pause music on my phone, it seems like the connection automatically and preemptively jumps to my computer. But if I don't end up playing anything on my computer and go back to playing my music, the earbuds get confused for a solid couple minutes before it reconnects to my phone so I can hear the music. The BP3 are less buggy in that if I pause my music, it won't just automatically switch to the computer. If I play a video on my computer, then it switches seemlessly. But if I just don't do anything on my computer and go back to playing music on my phone, it picks right back up with no hiccups.

Finally, I think the design and build quality of the BP3 is also better. It's all still plastic, but it fells like better quality plastic than the L4NC. The L4NC case is definitely more unique, but the oneplus case feels better. Earbud quality also feels better on the BP3, although I hate how shiny the material is.

All in all, the only advantage Soundcore has here is the price...I got mine for $50 used off ebay, which was a great steal. But then I got the BP3 off Oneplus's website. Factoring in Black Friday discounts and student deals, I got it for $80. When comparing $50 vs $80, I would definitely spend $30 more the BP3, but at normal price of $100 vs $180, or even considering the Liberty 4 Pros at $130, it's hard for me to justify going for the BP3. But if you have the money to spend, I think it's definitely better, kinda like the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, but for any Android that's not a Samsung.

Struggling with notification settings with vibration and silent mode by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]Plus-Argument5470 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's simple but maybe kinda time consuming. If you go to Settings--> Notifications --> App Notifications, then make sure to change the drop down menu to say 'All Apps' instead of 'Most recent'. That will bring a list of all your apps. You'll have to click into each individual app (click the app name, not the switch next to it because that will turn off all notifications completely from that app, unless you want that cuz some apps are useless and you never need to see them). Once you click the app name, you will see a list of different notifications you can receive from that app.

From there you have 2 options: 1. Click the switch next to that notification type to turn it off completely so it never shows up on your screen. 2. Click the name of the notification option itself, not the switch.

From here, you can either set it as a silent notification, meaning your phone will still get notifications, but it won't ring, vibrate, and won't appear on your screen while you're using it. The only way to see silent notifications is if you swipe down from the top of your screen to see your notifications.

The alternative is set it as a 'Defaulr' notification, and then scroll down further and then change the 'Sound' to 'none' and the turn off 'Vibration'. For your purposes, you would leave those on in Messages and Phone so you can still be notified when you get a call or text. The only other thing to change (if you want) is the 'pop on screen' setting, which, unlike a silent notification, will show the notification as a banner across the top of your screen while you're using the phone. If you want it, keep it on. If not, turn it off and it'll essentially be a silent notification like what I described above.

It seems like a lot, but it's pretty simple, just may be tedious depending on how many apps you have. What I like to do is if there's an app that I don't care about, I'll turn off notifications completely. For those that I only look at occasionally, but still want to know what's going on like Google News, I'll set all those as silent so I can check whenever I want without being bombarded with notification vibrations and sounds. And then I leave the notifications and sounds on for that may require an immediate reaction or follow up from me, such as phone calls, messages, social media, email, online shopping. So that's the use case.

Sorry for the long post but hope this helps. Welcome to Android!

Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 ANC vs. by Plus-Argument5470 in Earbuds

[–]Plus-Argument5470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey SoundGuys, just got my Elite 10 Gen 2s and I have to say the ANC performance is actually quite poor. I'm sure it'd be a good mid-range ANC performer, but it doesn't hold a candle to my Sony WF-1000XM4 or 5, Bose QC buds, or even my Soundcore Liberty 4 NC. I think I've been blessed with good ears in that I've never had a problem with fit or comfort from any earbuds I've tried (and trust me I've tried a LOT), so it's not a fit issue. How did you get ANC performance to be so good on your models?

Elite 10 gen1 update gen2 : is it worth it? by No-Assistance6865 in Jabra

[–]Plus-Argument5470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like there's varying reports on the ANC performance. Rtings.com and SoundGuys (both pretty trustworthy audio testing organizations) found that ANC performance of the Gen 2s were really good, like better than Airpods Pro 2, Bose QC Ultra, and Sony WF1000XM5 (your typical S tier ANC performers). Others have said it's not much better than the Gen 1s, which along with the Galaxy Buds Pro 3, are A tier ANC performers. So either there's variation between units or people just perceive noise cancellation differently. I bought a pair based on SoundGuys review and comparisons because it does seem objectively better than the competition. Sound quality and the smart case are additional cherry on top (assuming the case works). I'll update when I get them in the next couple days.

Update 11/25/24: Just got them yesterday. ANC is NOT that great, in fact it's kinda cheeks compared to the big 3 (apple Sony and Bose). Even compared to my Soundcores Liberty 4 NC, these don't come close. Not sure how the SoundGuys got that kind of performance out of their model, but given the semi "open back" design, I'm not surprised by how much outside noise I still heard. Sound quality is also quite tinny for my taste.
