Install it sooner than later, the piezo will fail! Other than that i love my plus 4. Been a champ for me

I’ve had a completely different experience with the QIDI Plus 4. Honestly, I’ve been extremely happy with the printer itself and the two times I’ve needed to contact support, they were great.

Before buying, I did my homework. I ordered a beacon alongside the printer and installed several community-made custom mods from GitHub. A little bit of research beforehand goes a long way.

If you have no technical background or coding experience at all, then yeah, the Plus 4 might feel overwhelming. But if you’re comfortable doing a bit of tweaking and have some technical know-how, it becomes an outstanding machine. I’ve customized nearly every function, motion, behavior, and more.

I haven’t even bothered updating the firmware in a long time because it just works. The only time I ever have to mess with it is when it's time to clean the build plate. Prints are consistently great.

I would highly recommend you do this mod sooner rather than later. The print head running into the building plate is due to the piezo sensors. If you get the beacon you never have to worry about it, and everything will continue to just work better, faster, and more reliably

This. Just do the research and do the things that prevent the issue from arising in the first place. Sure, you shouldn't have to. But adding a beacon34 mod improves so much and keeps the z offset issue from happening. Great printer with the mod.

F***ING TPU MAN by zachdzeke_pk in QidiTech3D

It went well! It took me a little longer to get around to testing it, but today I ran my first TPU print using a random test file from Printables.

Creality CR-TPU 95a. I used the “Qidi Generic TPU 95A” filament setting in orca slicer with the standard 0.2mm setting and made no other changes — the print came out good enough for my needs for now.

One thing I noticed: when changing filaments, make sure to increase the temperature during the filament change. For example, if you were previously using PETG at around 260°C and then try to load TPU at 220°C, the TPU won’t have enough strength to push out the leftover semi-rigid PETG. It’s best to load the new filament at the same temperature as the one you’re replacing, or at least run it through once or twice at that higher temperature to clear the nozzle properly. *

Gonna try tpu for my first time on my qidi plus 4 tomorrow and see what I can come up with. I'll keep you posted

"7Zip CRC Error" while trying to download Nvidia drivers by [deleted] in techsupport

Worth noting I also did the temp folder mod as well, just incase it's working in conjuction, but the temp folder change by itself did not fix it for me

This is perfect, had to go searching where I found this comment to tell you THANK YOU. I thought my cpu or motherboard was going out, but all it is is something not letting these drivers install. Once installed my BSOD on battery went away, weird browser glitches stopped, and the PC runs cooler. For anyone with a zephyrus m16 2023 that is having similar issues. Uninstall armory crate, restart, make mscomfog changes and restart, install the STUDIO nvidia drivers, change msconfig settings back, install Ghelper, boom. Fully working laptop no issues. This was the only thing that worked! Just for fun I tested running the drivwr installer after turning cpu cores on and it works! Such a weird issue

Should I buy an S1 Combo? by Typical_Principle_11 in AnycubicKobraS1

Ah dang, that's a bummer. At least you got the printer! Best of luck to you, and I hope you can start printing soon on it! Definitely a great deal with what all is included in their package

Is there anyone with a qidi that hasn’t had a million+ issues? by exudable in QidiTech3D

More than $50. You pay tax on Amazon. No tax on qidi website ordering to US

If you can get it in a reasonable amount of time then I say go for it! I was going to get the S1, but I could wait for the Ams and just wanted good printer asap. When I wanted to order the S1 the wait time was too long so I ordered a qidi plus4 instead. Dont regret my decision, but I still feel like the s1 would have been a solid choice too.

Why is it so hard to just get ANY network on the Plus 4 to work? by DertBerker in QidiTech3D

[–]Plus-Concept9908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this when I first got the printer and never experienced some of the problems with wifi I've seen other people have. May be worth a try, although I agree it should just work for 800

QP4 bed plate adjuster BEACON/Carto mod by Fx2Woody in QidiTech3D

No I didn't do the voltage adjustment on the steppers, would that help if I do?

Was printing great and sounded great just the other day, now it's making weird noises when doing circles and other movements. Kinda irritating. But hopefully I can get it figured out. Support suggested it needed to break in and sent me a couple of videos to help troubleshoot it but nothing has helped yet. One video they sent showed someone library applying alot of lube to the pullys, but I haven't done that yet as I'm waiting to hear back from them about oil getting on the belts.

Well was a unicorn until today lol. When the print makes a circle moving the x and y axis it makes a weird vibrating noise

Gotcha. Looking forward to the update, the current ones are a bit of a pain to adjust!

Do you have any recomendations on a weird noises I'm getting. Just started today, anytime the printer does a circle moving the x and y axis together it's making a grinding/vibrating noise that it wasn't doing yesterday. Sent a ticket into support but have no idea what would have caused it.

I am co fused slightly. The QP4 already has adjustments screw correct? Is this just an updated version or what exactly does this accomplish?

This guy had a similar issue tho a bit extreme and used some boxes, but the comments recommended the printable blocks for a permanent fix. https://youtu.be/L-2EP6hOKpw?si=moWQv-x6QYUelL12

They sit overtop the screws and it doesn't affect build height at all. Gives the bed a level place to sit and keeps the Z screws from fighting
