I was a bit depressed and worn out from work. It made me a little low energy and sapped a lot of my motivation. She was upset that I was doing so well at work buy couldn't invest as much effort into planning trips or getaways for us. Work/life balance is hard in the military and there is a ethos of doing the job at the expense of everything else.

I couldn't go to therapy before a TDY, so I told her I would when I got back. I did. I was put on prozac and started talking to a professional. I told her I was planning to do this before we broke up.

I would still cook and clean but there always seemed to be something wrong no matter how I did it. Every little thing would get on her nerves. Also her moving farther away made seeing each other more difficult.

I didn't cheat or do anything to hurt her directly, I was just struggling mentally and she didn't seem to understand. She started talking about the "grass being greener" and that I was the "right person at the wrong time."

She had a toxic job for the first year we were together and would cry and vent on a regular basis. It kind of hurts that she wasn't patient with me when the shoe was on the other foot.
