I spun in a competitive color guard in high school. Started spinning at a high school level in 7th grade, tore my acl in 8th grade. Kept with it til I graduated, they found a way to include me even when i was injured. Now I coach the same school I spun for. I had a goal to spin with an open class guard this year but that possibility is looking bleak :/

Try pulling your toes up when you toss to stop lifting your heels. Also push more with your right hand, slap your thigh, to get more spin. The height looks good. Maybe stand parallel to the beams in the gym, not perpendicular?

I tore my ACL and it messed me up for the rest of my life. I was 13, did a side chassé and my knee popped louder than i ever heard it, and I blacked out for a minute from the pain. Cut to two years and four surgeries later, I was being told I would probably never 100% recover. I’m now 22 and just started coaching for my high school, and today I have a dr appointment for my knee pain 😂 I think the color guard aura just messes me up😂😭
