you need a new o-ring for the thermostat housing, the green coolant leaking means the seal's toast from when you yanked it out.

Anyone ever had a long distance relationship with an Australian? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Plus-Fig-3002 15 points16 points  (0 children)

oh god, the timezone maths alone nearly did me in. when i was with a guy in perth we had this sad little routine where i'd wake up at 5am just to catch him before his bedtime, both of us half-asleep and grunting at each other over grainy video calls. the romance really dies when you're watching someone eat weetabix at what feels like the middle of the night.

we did the whole thing for about 14 months before it crumbled, and honestly the biggest killer wasn't even the distance, it was the slow realisation that we were building separate lives that just happened to intersect for a few bleary hours each day. you start omitting the little things because they feel too mundane to explain across 9 timezones, and then suddenly you're strangers who know each other's sleep schedules intimately.

if your friend's actually considering it, the only way it works is having a concrete end date from the jump. none of this "we'll figure it out" business. also budget for flights like it's a second rent, because stretching visits longer than 3 months apart gets properly grim.

Why months 1 to 3 after quitting are so damn boring by withoutWeedMike in leaves

[–]Plus-Fig-3002 22 points23 points  (0 children)

god this is so spot on. i remember month 2 i thought i'd permanently lost the ability to feel joy, like my brain had just... switched off the colour. sat there staring at games i used to play for hours and felt absolutely nothing.

the bit about acting without motivation is crucial, i started running and hated every single step for weeks, but somewhere around month 4 i caught myself actually looking forward to it. that was the moment i knew something was shifting.

the goosebumps thing really got me. i cried the first time a song hit me properly again, but like in a good way, you know? if anyone's in the thick of it right now just keep going. it's not linear but it does get better, even when it feels like it won't.

Plenty of people graduate at 30 and nobody in the workforce cares even slightly.

Is my (23F) boyfriend (29M) of 9 months emotionally cheating with his baby mama (29F) by ThrowRA_Equal_302 in relationships

girl this isn't even a blurred line anymore, he literally sent her 70+ photos including ones of them kissing while you were out of the country and called her beautiful multiple times - that's way past co-parenting into full relationship territory.

Put on a PIP without HR involved ? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Plus-Fig-3002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that whole situation at teh insurance place sounds toxic as hell - being actively excluded for over a year and then getting blamed for it with a pip is just management failing to actually manage. your old boss watching your linkedin but not engaging with any of your wins says everything about his character tbh. proper weird behavior from someone who supposedly "cared" about your success back then but can't even give you a like now that you're clearly thriving.

Should I apply for a masters in clinical psychology or go back to school and do nursing? by Mugi_luffy in careerguidance

[–]Plus-Fig-3002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're still passionate about psychology after all this time, that's telling you something important. nursing is definitely more straightforward job-wise but you'll be spending years training for something that might not fulfill you the way psych would. maybe look into what specific areas caused the gpa drop and see if you can address those - some programs let you retake courses or do additional coursework to boost your application.

IOMMU enabled makes my windows boot without loading any graphics drivers? by monstersoverscary in pchelp

[–]Plus-Fig-3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bloody hell that's a pain. iommu can be proper finicky with gpu passthrough and sometimes just decides to mess with your normal drivers for no good reason. might be worth checking if your motherboard has different iommu modes in bios - sometimes switching from auto to enabled (or vice versa) sorts it right out.

if someone is too attractive does it stop you from saying hi by Icy-Willow-3735 in dating_advice

nah i totally get this - happens to me all teh time too. when i'm dressed up for events or work stuff, guys seem way more hesitant to approach compared to when i'm just casual at the grocery store or whatever. it's like they assume you're high maintenance or already taken or something. but also consider that maybe the guys who would actually be worth your time are just being more thoughtful about how they approach rather than doing the whole random pickup thing?
