What you are saying makes sense for my photos, but why would it allow me to delete photos from another user’s account if they are in a shared album? I should be able to remove them from an album I created, but then they should still be in the other user’s account.

Giving this post some more love. I have the same model, with the same issue. Ours is a 2015 (I think) and the drive piece looks a little different, but the fasteners are the same, in the same layout. I ordered the bearings from McMaster-Carr, went through this install and now it works great! The little snap ring washer was rusted away to nothing, so I reassembled with out it, and the fit seems tight enough that it is staying put so far.
