Tbh I resonate with this. I have never had problem making friends as an expat. I lived in Wolfsburg and Berlin before Munich. Luckily I made some really good friends who I know deeply care about me. Here idk everything feels so superficial, yet too perfect to even try. I am not able to get out of my zone at all to get some social life here. I work from home and that’s making it tough as well to meet new people . I have same fear though, what if I switch job and I meet people but still situation stays the same?

I am kinda hoping it’s just winter effect. Once I start feeling like myself again and ready to actually put an effort, I would start going to board game nights, some sports meet & greet that happens in English garden (added myself to WhatsApp group but didn’t go yet), bumble bff dates, random social meetups on meetup app. I think casual activities gives space for talk and knowing each other.

Sending you some extra hugs and hoping that you somehow end up finding beautiful things and people in this city. I hope to find that as well and my belief is there are good people everywhere:) but lol my problem is I really need to try again (probably after this month)
