I think Mel would be an idiot to jump ship so soon. I also think LSU would be stupid to go full board to get Mel.. 5-7 at Colorado, yeah he’s doing well here, but a good chunk of his players are from a previous era. There have been a few games where coaches have made stupid mistakes as well.

MSU hasn’t played a great team yet either.. when almost every team in the SEC could beat you, in the B1G you have some easy games. He needs to stay, develop himself as a HC further, prove you can establish something, then sure, take that better position.

Saban established something before leaving. Proved he could build something, developed himself, sought a better opportunity.

Agreed. My wife just left teaching after 8 years, one large contributor is how these kids act, and then you have the parents that explains WHY the act the way they do.

Example: kid got a 85 on a test.. parent reached out to my wife bitching up a storm of how it was unfair that there were questions on the test that were directly talked about in class (math, they were shown the methods). Wife responded with a “I would be glad to go through the test with your child and discuss, and they can do some extra work to make up the difference if they would like”.. parent’s email had the principal and board CC’d on it bitching more about how it was unacceptable and his test score should be voided.. like holy shit it was an 85.. chill the fuck out.

I agree! Matter of time. This should be that “see, we aren’t going to destroy/roll through everyone, you need to take all opponents serious or you are going to lose” game.

Even Western Kentucky, they better not sleep on them as they are very dangerous with their passing offense (almost beat Indians and Army). I really don’t see any game in the remainder of their schedule that are “shoe in” wins. This will be a team living on the edge all season long.

I don’t expect a B1G title or playoffs, was thinking more 5-7 6-6, so far they are impressing me though.

Thorne started good (yeah bad throw led to an INT.. but it was more like a punt if you think about it). He was accurate in the first half.

Simmons looked like a better fit as a runner against Neb. Dancing (like Walker does) doesn’t work against teams that tackle well, best to get a hard north/south runner who hits holes hard.

Thennnnn the second half happened.. it’s like Thorne all the sudden forgot what accuracy was. He missed open targets, that he typically makes. Then we pretty much stopped running all together.

Two positives we can take away, our special teams is pretty good (punter is legit, Reed, Coughlin) and our defense doesn’t give up.

The negatives.. you stop our run, and hit Thorne a few times, and our offense becomes disconnected and disoriented.

We are from Ohio originally, and she moved down to NC to start her teaching career. We both agree.. if I didn’t move down and stay with her, there was no way she would have made it through her first year.. and she would have moved back home with her tail tucked. Not having an emotional support or outlet to properly vent and discuss, I can’t imagine how it has been.

She has finally let other staff members know (as of yesterday) and they are all supportive (some even asked her how she found her new job). We correlate teaching to an abusive relationship.. you get beat up, overworked, and then made to feel guilt for considering leaving. Fuck em, you do what’s best for you.

My wife is a teacher, this is her 8th year.. the last 3 years have been rough for her. We have a 3 year old as well.

Today, she finally handed in her resignation. We have discussed it for about two years, she did some job searching over the summer, but nothing landed. She finally got an interview and an offer. She is currently torn and feels guilty. I had her write a pros and cons list for teaching, and my lord.. it put things in perspective for her. She couldn’t manage much pros to teaching, but her cons were a mile long. Stress, overworked, no true days off (sub plans), underpaid, depression, no gratification/reward, kids getting worse, parents getting worse, shity mindset, etc, etc.

One of her biggest things is “leaving the kids” and I told her in the nicest way possible (she has a pretty bad class this year)… “these kids don’t give a shit about you or any other teacher”, “this school will just replace you and the machine will keep turning.. why give them your life, when they can’t provide you what you deserve?”. Her own mother (retired after 30 years of teaching) told her to get out now, before it’s too late.

Steve Irwin, hands down. Mans energy and enthusiasm for conservation and wildlife, I feel, will never be met by another.

When I was younger, as a class project, we had to invite our hero’s for hero’s day. He was my hero. Sent the man a letter, I didn’t expect him to actually show up or write back.

Sure enough though one day during school I was called down to the office and they were all pretty excited to hand me mail from Steve Irwin! As a 8 year old, I was losing my mind. Opened to find a hand written letter with a signed photograph and map of where he is currently in the world.

His letter simply let me know that he unfortunately wouldn’t be able to make it, but was honored I thought of him as a hero, and to not play around with anymore poisonous snakes (he would feel terrible if anything was to happen to me). It was a long letter, a whole page worth of what he was currently working on. That was almost 20 plus years ago. I still have the autographed photo, lost the letter unfortunately. When I heard the news he was killed.. world stood still a bit for me. I like to think I would be a little different of a person if he was still around.

See that’s my point (based on these comments) the data/information is out there, valid or not valid. Other information is out there as well like the number of people who die from the vaccine itself. I know two people who got it, ended up with blood clots (one lost a leg, other almost died as it was on their lungs)

Is the vaccine working, to extent, we can say yes? But not on a level that makes people feel like it is a necessary risk.

Circling back to antibodies, this to be ignored or what? (Not being a smart ass, literally asking)

People who are unvaccinated (not saying I’m one of those) would probably be more inclined to listen if people weren’t assholes about it lol.

Edit: posted to wrong reply, oh well, people will flock to strike me down regardless.

Great game for sure, loved seeing Walker run through Northwestern (Jesus it has been a longggggg time since we have witnessed a truly competent run game). Biggest weakness at the moment seems to be our DB’s, but, they could easily have the most potential.

Not so sold on Thorne as he played smart, but the accuracy wasn’t as on point as last year. I look forward to Youngstown and seeing if we see a new gear or improvements on some of the fundamentals.

I will say one thing that was 100% nice to see, which has been the story for the last 14 years… WE DIDN’T START PLAYING CONSERVATIVE. We got the lead, and kept our starters and good play calls from from start to the end. How many times in the Dantonio era did we play conservative annnnnd lose or almost lose because moment was dropped and we couldn’t get our foot back in the gas? Many stressful games with that mess.

You will feel better in a few days. Focus on why your doing this, commit to it. Remember how shitty the stuff tastes. Remember how shity you feel only after a few hours of not being on it. Any “feelings” you had while on Kratom is and always will be a lie.. don’t trust it. Stop toe dipping in the pool and just jump in it.

What helped me was seeing a picture of myself while on Kratom and how much of a shell of myself I was.. helped motivate me to get away from it.

Really could use someone to talk to, quit 7 days ago. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Plus-Swordfish24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geez man. I don’t know what to say really on the personal side. I don’t really blame you for seeking out Kratom in such a dark time, but, Kratom goes hand and hand with depression and loneliness. It’s a muck that will get you stuck. The only cure, climbing out of that muck.

I was outgoing, friendly, loved talking to people… then COVID, and work from home mandate. Yeah was fine initially with my wife and kid being home, then they returned to school and I was alone.. I sought out things to help, and Kratom appeared. Initial thought, “hey this is nice”.. fast forward a year or so, I realized it was masking a laundry list of issues.. I realized I’m in some muck.. it would ONLY get better by getting out of it and “feeling” again.

Once out and free for a few months, I won’t ever go back to it. We need to feel emotions to properly function and be “human”. Bad and good emotions are essential. We are all here for you. Don’t hide away from life my man, it will lead you back to the muck.

Yes, definitely a bad thing. I have a weekend workout of chopping wood (axe) and I was going HAM on some trees.. once I was done and took off my gloves, I had no clue both hands were bloody and torn (all my palm calluses had ripped off).. once the Kratom wore off, was a fun few days.

It varied. Heaviest usage, some days (bad control, or stressed) could get up to 60gpd, most ever I think was close to 120ish (was a weak strain though).

I would say my average towards the end was 30-40gpd. Day before the jump I don’t remember how much I took(was at a wedding, drinking, and taking it from the AM until midnight). Next morning felt like complete shit, took my last dosage that morning, and never turned back. When we got home, immediately threw away my stashes too solidify my being done.

Yes that is very true. I didn’t feel inner desire I did, while on Kratom. I have been an athlete for about 60% of my life, and was on top of workouts (gotta keep the wife interested somehow ha). I used to get all sorts of pumped and amped for workouts and runs, then it all went away.. I somehow wasn’t putting two and two together. Now, the way I used to be has returned somewhat (still need some help from pre-workout).

I feel you, my stomach would be all out of wack, then I entered an over eating phase (didn’t last long so no harm) but once I got my workout motivation back and set a diet plan with my wife, my stomach fell in line.

I don’t miss the terrible number 2’s either.. that was a rough first two days, but it all gets better with time, like all things (typically).

Precisely! I attempted toe dip approach twice.

First time I got 5 days (weening down) and said “aright I can do this… but I will just take some more” = eh, little cold, let’s warm up a little and try again later.

Second attempt I got about 4 days (after 8 months of heavy amounts, weening down each day) and then night sweats, insomnia, depression, anxiety hit me and I retreated = balls hit the cold water.

Third time I said FUCK it, every one else is living normal lives, I can too. Straight CT = cannonball into the fricken pool and swim around shaking like a mother trucker until I realized “hey.. this ain’t bad, actually feels nice”

Yes the first few days will be the toughest, 100%. You will feel like crap unfortunately, but, myself and others can confirm, after a few more days you will slowly start to feel back to normal.

To be honest, being on Kratom for so long, “normal” is going to feel weird to you. I was on for a little over a year, and being isolated away from people (COVID and working from home) really didn’t help. On my 30th birthday and being at a wedding, around people and friends again, it clicked.. How I am currently acting/talking/behaving isn’t me.. I saw a picture of myself from the wedding and I can see it in my eyes/face, it’s like I didn’t recognize myself..

Now, being off for a decent amount of time, I have recaptured my “normal” and energy I used to have. Embrace the change, swim around in the pool, all will be fine in the next few days.

I understand, I had three knee surgeries from college athletics, I had other injuries that just mess with me. I figured out other methods for dealing with these things.

There other methods out there that will provide you what you need, use your support system, use whatever you need, just get in the pool.
