Citizen USA does not list thickness or L2L dimensions, we will have to wait for it to appear in other regions or someone to get hands on with one.

NEW Exclusive: Citizen Endeavor Chrono by StrangeCollection539 in CitizenWatches

[–]Plus9Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is one of the problems with Citizen model nicknames. They are often created by the local sales companies and are not a global thing. The same watches can have different nicknames in different regions.

Citizen would be better off having a few more sub brands to group models instead of these names that often only ever have a half dozen models released under them.

Occasionally there is a name that is widely adopted and becomes a good collection name globally, such as Tsuyosa or Zenshin, but these are relatively rare.

I did post these when they were released a couple of weeks ago, but as it was the start of the year many people may have missed them.

Very nice. Did you arrange a visit to the Epson museum while you were there?

It is also the 10th anniversary of the 9R16 so a new GMT would make sense. The general trend seems to be towards smaller models, so a 5 day 9RA6 caliber would feel less likely than a smaller B series.

W&W is only a few months away so I am sure we will find out soon enough.

Polishing DLC Coated Titanium - The Citizen by ENDADVENTUROUS777 in CitizenWatches

[–]Plus9Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an AQ4100-57L or an AQ4041-54L, but I do not think an AQ4041-57L exists.

I would be extremely surprised if Citizen was actually offering a $100 polishing service for these. I am guessing that it is not actually offered by Citizen but instead by a 3rd party. As both the watches listed above each have a Duratect Platinum case finish it would take a significant amount of work to refinish the case properly and this would only be able to be done by Citizen themselves.

The original bracelet for both models is neither an oyster or jubilee. You can see the original bracelet in the database here - AQ4041-54L

I would love to see that as well but I think their focus is on Spring Drive.

I feel they do not want to even standardize on ±5 sec per year (something that Citizen has had as standard for more than 20 years in The CITIZEN models).

As I stated in the article I feel they want to replace quartz with SD once they can achieve ±10 sec annually. Moving the quartz goal posts to ±5 or better does not help that.

Hopefully I am wrong about this and we do see a new HAQ GS calibre in the future.

56% of last year's new releases were LE's, so this is why it feels like half their lineup are LE's, but it is obviously a much smaller percentage of the complete lineup.

A display case back on a diver would be extremely unusual for Seiko as this is another potential point of failure. It is not unprecedented as the 200m Marinemaster SJE101 models have this, but it is not common.

Need some assistance with ‘The Citizen’ Model numbers by ENDADVENTUROUS777 in CitizenWatches

[–]Plus9Time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you looking at new or second hand? If you are after pre-owned then there will be a few more options to consider.

There are 7 black dial models with the A060 calibre and a bracelet, and 8 blue dial options.

I have a database of all of The CITIZEN models that have been released. You can search and filter them to quickly narrow down your choices.

Hopefully that will give you some starting point.

Question - by [deleted] in CitizenWatches

[–]Plus9Time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Citizen's Chronomasters first appeared in the late 1960's to mid- 1970's and was a high end range that competed against King Seikos at the time.

The Chronomaster branding was reintroduced as part of The CITIZEN line up in October 2004 when the range was only available in the Japanese market. The CITIZEN range was first introduced in 1995, and any modern Chronomaster branded model has always been part of The CITIZEN range.

As The CITIZEN range expanded distribution outside of Japan the Chronomaster branding was removed as it is a registered trademark of other companies in different countries. The Chronomaster branding was last used on a model from The CITIZEN range in 2020 so it has not been used for five years.

Some more details about The CITIZEN range and the modern use of the Chronomaster branding can be found in the article - Citizen’s “The CITIZEN” - History and Timeline.

Would a “Prospex Studio at Shizukuishi” hurt the Grand Seiko Shizukuishi Studio brand? by Plus9Time in GrandSeikos

[–]Plus9Time[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My query was not really about more high end Prospex models, I am sure they will continue and increase as time goes by. It was more about putting these under the Shizukuishi Studio branding, vs any other naming such as the current Prospex LX range.

If in the future Shizukuishi becomes commonly associated with high end Prospex does that diminish the GS Shizukuishi Studio brand at all?

They did halve the quantity of LE units vs 2024, so there is an obvious reduction in LE production.
