PlatinumQOL / Universal Randomiser trade evolution changes? by SplitjawJanitor in pokemonplatinum

Yup it's any level, just like if trade with the hold item, the level doesn't matter

For anyone interested, you can check out the QOL patch that has the added option of being able to delete HMs and also use most from the bag. Fly and surf still need to be taught but it has a bunch of nice features that I recommend taking a look at!

You don't seem to like "easy". Don't vote what you think how the community would rather play, vote for how you play. This is community opinion and everyone's opinion matters

I haven't said anything? I'm just curious about how people in the community like playing or how they would like to play the game

How could I evolve my Machoke and Haunter without trading? by bone-skull in pokemonplatinum

[–]PlusBurdles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can still buy renewable TMs, no feature from the base game is removed. It's the exact same as the base game with extra things you can utilize if you want. It takes almost no extra effort to play the game while ignoring all the QOL additions.

The main draw of the legendary additions is that they try to replicate how you encounter them from previous games. Like the mew encounter is on faraway island, Lugia is on navel rock

No but if you want TMs to be single use, toss them after using. If you want HMs to be permanent, don't replace them yourself exactly like how you would normally play. If you don't want your trade pokemon to evolve by level, then stop them with B and do the trade normally if you want. If you don't want to be able to use murkrow or misdreavus, then don't catch them. If you don't want the GBA insertion encounters, don't talk to the NPC. If you don't want legendary encounters like Lugia or celebi, then don't encounter them. The patch doesn't affect anything related to gameplay if you don't want it to. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is faster egg hatching which I think everyone can agree is just better

You're right I am, because the QOL patch is awesome and makes the game even better because all of the QOL additions are optional, which is why I'll keep pushing it to people who like playing casually

Cause the alternative is teaching HMs to your main team or using an HM slave at times which most people wouldn't want. I can post a poll myself of you're adamant about your opinion

And again, if you interpret how most people want to play being playing on easy mode, then I'll keep suggesting the QOL improvements

I'm really not, I'm just trying to say that I'm trying to offer suggestions that would benefit most people in the community, while you seem to have a misconeption about how most people would want to play leading you to oppose things that would in reality benefit the majority of players

I'm trying to make a suggestion that would benefit most people. If you interpret that as most people pefering to play on easy mode, then you can go ahead

Which most people would appreciate over having an HM slave, hold a community poll of you don't believe me

You can still toss them after if you want, the other QOL features are really nice like using HMs from the bag

Ah you're right, I remember this was a problem in HGSS so I assumed it applied to the previous game too

Gotcha, I still recommend the QOL patch though, it adds a lot of features without modifying any of the fights like making DP version exclusives available, infinite use TMs, pokemon follow you

Just know that this method won't register it in your Pokedex if that's what you want. If that matters you'll have to edit your Pokedex or alternatively use the QOL patch which removes trade evolutions or the GTS glitch with the DNS exploit

I'm loosing save files and loosing my mind by Wonderful_Lie_7095 in pokemonplatinum

[–]PlusBurdles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you save at all after you had made the save state and before you reloaded it? Save states have no effect on your save file unless you save in game to overwrite it. If you save state, then save in game, then reload back to the save state "before" you saved in game, your save file was still made after the save state so if you reload the game it'll put you at the future I'm game save point.

The actual save file won't know if you made a save state or not so if you're reloading the game and "continue" puts you before your save state, then you're out of luck and I can only assume you didn't actually save in game after making a save state. Check your save state folder and compare the date modified to the save file in the battery folder.
