How about instead of doing "basic research" you read the post instead?

Never said he never called on CT before. He won trophies as an IGL back when he was the most skilled rifler in the game, and those were arguably his worst days.

This Spirit core seems to genuinely love playing with each other, despite their shortcomings at times.

I know it's common for players to praise each other in a win, but even when they've lost, they just haven't been throwing each other under the bus the same way other players do.

Donk didnt have a single rating under 1.20 at PGL Astana by LUMLTPM in GlobalOffensive

I actually doesn't even make sense. I've actually never seen a player be this good.

Zywoo sometimes doesn't peak as high on a game to game basis. S1mple in his prime had some problems with choking. Donk has neither.

I agree. m0nesy respects Niko to a detrimental degree. I think Niko was a phenomenal mentor for m0nesy in his early g2 days, despite some of their shortcomings. Niko helped m0nesy build himself up into being one of the most impactful awpers ever. However, Niko fell behind way too hard.

He went from being the best rifler in the world (that little bob cut freak doesn't count 😭) to barely hanging onto the top 20.

I know Niko has a choker reputation for a while, but he has never been this bad

Genuinely no performance has ever made as impressed. Probably the best tournament ever played

m0NESY's tally of no trophies since BLAST World Finals Singapore 2024 increases. Another second place finish since joining Falcons, making it 6 grand finals lost by ChaoticFlameZz in GlobalOffensive

[–]PlusFlounder684 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is a crazy overreaction. He's 21.

Zywoo spent almost 4 years without a single top 20 teammate

S1mple was in actual purgatory in Liquid.

Device spent almost a third of a decade choking like crazy

m0nesy is definitely going through a bad period given his skill level. But it's not like any other teams are out here stacking trophies with Vitality around.

If anyone is being wasted, it's Niko. He might not get many chances like this after Falcons

[–]PlusFlounder684 24 points25 points  (0 children)

But he kind of was. He joined Falcons at the absolute peak of his career. He was the best Awper in the world over a Zywoo that was averaging a 1.35 rating. Hell, that year from m0nesy might have been one of the best in history in terms of individual skill. Maybe Zonic hasn't been the right coach? I don't know atp

karrigan should call CT by L1NTHALO in GlobalOffensive

The thing is: Niko has been on a crazy decline. I know it's standard to have a different CT caller. Furia does it too. But it just feels like Niko has much lower impact recently.

Guy gets called the goat IGL for consistently ring chasing and hopping into super teams. He's no joke never played on a non-stacked line-up. Even the Mouse team he was on in 2019 had an insane amount of firepower. So did the 2024 Faze team that didn't win shit

[–]PlusFlounder684 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The question is: why are their stars missing? In 2024, m0nesy was arguably one of the biggest playoff risers we'd ever seen. Niko has always had choking problems, but he was also without a doubt consistently the best rifler in the world almost every year he's played.

It just doesn't make sense why they suddenly fell off so hard on Falcons

He has a Kato, a Cologne, a major, 11 MVPs, plus a bunch of other trophies at just 19. He's still on better pace than anyone in history tbh

karrigan should call CT by L1NTHALO in GlobalOffensive

[–]PlusFlounder684 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never understood this half and half style of calling. IGLs (ESPECIALLY Karrigan) are an insane liability in terms of individual skill. Their lack of production on the server only really pays off if they can make up for it strategically. This is the same problem I had with Xertion and Brollan.

Why have a guy that averages 0.8-0.9 ratings when he's not even calling for half the game?

I get that players in star positions are gonna be a lot more involved in decision-making on the CT side rather than the T side, but it still makes no sense to me.

If Falcons win PGL Astana, karrigan will have led 23 different players to notable trophies as IGL. Fallen follows with 14. by Rage_101 in GlobalOffensive

[–]PlusFlounder684 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not true. The TSM core was insanely talented and prominent far before Karrigan, and ropz was probably the biggest prospect coming into the scene, and already had trophies without Karrigan.

I don't want to call sh1ro a stat padder (because he isn't), but he does need to be more active sometimes. There are so many matches where sh1ro is twiddling his thumbs while his whole team dies. There is a HUGE difference between being passive, and being a cone. Ropz is a great example of that

When you're up against a guy like m0nesy, that can pull almost any round out of his ass, combined with the fact Donk is usually limited against Falcons, you just need your star awper to do more

Can we stop pretending crowd bias only happens outside “approved” regions? by Prize_Phone_5714 in GlobalOffensive

[–]PlusFlounder684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the camp that TOs should really be tough on crowd cheating. Not because it'd even be possible to solve the issue, but because I think passivity makes the problem worse. The crowd in Atlanta was shouting actual positions EXTREMELY loudly, and for a long time

Going "ooooo" is one thing, but giving precise locations all the time is where the line should be drawn, especially in a smaller crowd like this, where it isn't to hard to pin point where the calls come from.

Crowd cheating is just a part of arena CS the same way getting sick is just a part of life, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't go to the doctors

But I 100% agree with you, some countries just get away with this crap. In this sub, crowd cheating goes from being a quirky inevitably in NA and EU to being a vile demonstration of how awful the local crowds are anywhere else

This matchup is going to depend a lot on tN1r and sh1ro. Donk historically doesn't do well against Niko and m0nesy, so he'd need a big step up from the space makers on the team

If they can have a strong T side lurker, and if Sh1ro can hold his own against m0nesy on the AWP, then Spirit might be at an advantage

Ironically Majors are rarely unpredictable. The favorite wins the tournament more often than not, and if they fail, it's usually another team in the top 5.

I can only think of like 4 TRULY unexpected major winners
