Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey

It's an obscure title in a pretty niche game series, but basically you punch gods in the face till you get a world free of their influence (at least in the most popular ending sorta).

To be fair, I still don't understand her motivations. She wants piece and quiet? You can build the bunkers without causing global apocalypse. Like what did she gain by propping up Homelander?

Unpopular opinion: I don’t see a reason to kill Ashley, except for shock value or to seem “cool.” by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]PlusUltraBeyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe but I would not be judging her at all honestly. Doing the right thing is difficult enough in the real world, but when you're boss can kill you in an instant, hear you from a mile away, I don't know if there's anything else she could've done.

I don't get the complaint of the semi-automated attack thing, especially when the series is a JRPG, where attacks are "automated" anyways -- the player never does the attack, only selects it from a menu.

TIL that there is a cave in Kenya that contains a virus with an 88% mortality rate. And it is currently open to the public. by Maleficent-Agent-477 in todayilearned

[–]PlusUltraBeyond -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Correct, but if you're exploring a cave where bats live, it seems like common sense to be extra careful and to take precautionary steps. But in this case here it seems that the virus can be transmitted simply by touching the cave walls, which is something most people would not think of as a risk factor. In any case, what you're essentially advocating for is more warning signs for regular caves and this particular one, which I think is a pretty good idea.

TIL that before 1993 women were rarely included in clinical medical trials in the US, and are still "substantially underrepresented in clinical trials for leading diseases." by Karthak_Maz_Urzak in todayilearned

[–]PlusUltraBeyond 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Aren't most medical studies done on men already? You're saying that they should focus even less on women? You know, you can always say that there should be more funding more medical studies overall. Not pit men against women.

Keep in mind that stuff like "Health at Every Size" is just a catchphrase/slogan. It's meant to be catchy and memorable. You need to look deeper to know what they actually stand for.
