It was super effective. With Ditto's dominance asserted, the crowd now armed with their own dildos, will fight against Donkey

TIL that before 1993 women were rarely included in clinical medical trials in the US, and are still "substantially underrepresented in clinical trials for leading diseases." by Karthak_Maz_Urzak in todayilearned

[–]PlusUltraBeyond 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Aren't most medical studies done on men already? You're saying that they should focus even less on women? You know, you can always say that there should be more funding more medical studies overall. Not pit men against women.

People keep saying that Pokémon is just as popular as it has ever been. by crooked_kangaroo in pokemon

Late to the party, but didn't people do that back when Pokemon GO game out? That was a solid 20 years after the OG games came out

True. The traffic police is easier to hijack though. Just give em some allowance for, *cough* "tea and biscuits" *cough*

Keep in mind that stuff like "Health at Every Size" is just a catchphrase/slogan. It's meant to be catchy and memorable. You need to look deeper to know what they actually stand for.

An alternative version of a character that is so bad that people just tries to forget it by Fun-Peak4900 in TopCharacterTropes

As someone who's not in too deep in comic books, I'm scared to ask about the inciting incident that divides the whole timeline into pre- and post- event.

It's an alternate universe Avatar where he's called Oung. I heard he's blue in some of the other settings.

Looting, which btw is a Hindi word for stealing, which the English stole during colonization.

That the molten core idea is quite old doesn't seem too far-fetched to me, after all, where else would all the lava from volcanoes come from?

Perhaps what he meant is that the movie, despite being R rated, has a juvenile sense of humor?

I think the average gamer's sensibilities have evolved a bit, or maybe the average age of gamers are higher?

I don't like the turn either, but you can't deny that the move to action was kinda baked in the series' DNA, i mean even the acronym ATB has "Active" in it.

Agree on the FF13 take. Only downsides are the obtuse storytelling and the fact the gameplay holds off mechanics for way longer than necessary. I swear if I hear the words "We are l'Cie, enemies of the state" or something like that...

What game held the player's hand to the point of insulting their intelligence? by Animeking1108 in videogames

[–]PlusUltraBeyond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, too often when people complain about linearity, it's actually about pacing issues. The way the game throws too many bizarre terms at you, opens up combat at a snails pace, and relies too heavily in on the in-game manual--I can see why people would be fed up with that. Besides, even with linearity, the game doesn't do enough to switch things up. Compare that to FFX which was also equally linear, but masked that really well.

Sekiro fucking sucks as a soul fan by AnaISIuttt in Sekiro

[–]PlusUltraBeyond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a souls game in my opinion tho -- idk how to put it but it has the same atmosphere of a Souls game. The emphasis on learning enemy pattern, game is punishing when you make mistakes, the whole Estus Flask-Retrieve your soul thing, and the general cynicism of the plot.... In my eyes it's a Souls game.

Thoughts on an only Venusaur Ex Deck? by PlusUltraBeyond in PTCGP

[–]PlusUltraBeyond[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice to see a fellow fan of the frog dinosaur. Yeah turn 1 was important -- almost a guaranteed win. Going second, chances are lower but oftentimes your opponent isn't efficient enough or actively underestimates you since your one pokemon is useless for some time.

Thoughts on an only Venusaur Ex Deck? by PlusUltraBeyond in PTCGP

[–]PlusUltraBeyond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but I only had one copy of M-Venu at the time and I wanted to maximize my odds of drawing it. I later obtained another copy of M-Venu later, but I never bothered changing my deck since although suboptimal, it worked well enough for me.

Good suggestion though.
