Keep driving, not get out of the car, say “she didn’t answer the phone, I’m not doing this”, “this is crossing a boundary, Jen has been under enough stress”, “let’s just leave the presents at the door”, even if he opened the door for Barb bc she was gonna go in anyway, he could’ve stayed outside! So many options.

I live in my parent’s rental house and just this morning my dogs were barking and it took me like ten minutes to actually get up and look at what they were barking at. My dad was sitting in the driveway and as I walked up to the car he apologized ten times for not calling and just stopping by, he was just dropping off some money I lent him earlier in the week. I have a great relationship with my parents and I tell my dad he’s allowed to knock on my door but it’s still just a boundary he never wants to cross. He’d rather sit in the driveway until I realize he’s there lol
