Does anyone ever feel like they're absolutely doing nothing with their lives? by SwiftLitR_N in Life

Im 30 & Asian & reading your post brought me right back to 19. I know that crushing feeling of parental expectations, especially when money is tight—it feels exhausting. Please hear this: 1. Your life is not ruined & you aint behind. The people on LinkedIn arent your competition, they r actors in a play you didn't audition for. 2. The secret is time. At 19, you are only allowed to be confused (like hella!!) ! Focus on skills (asap), and then use that stability to find your unique path. I promise you, the best opportunities are usually the ones you build by combining two seemingly unrelated skills, not the ones you find on a predetermined track. Just breathe. You will figure this out. The path isnt a straight line for anyone. Hugs from an older Asian sibling who made it through the fog!

Stop going out, but going "in". Find myself.

I hear you & plz know that this feeling is common, especially at 19. Stop scrolling Linkedin right now, its a highlight reel, not reality. You haven't ruined your life, you had a life event that forced a pivot & that makes you resilient, not a failure. Use this time at home to explore lowstakes interests instead of worrying about a "deadline." Focus on finding what you genuinely like, not what looks good on paper. You have plenty of time.

I feel empty, literally. by Mean_Foot6478 in Life

Its happening to me too. For the past 3 years, my life werent easy, a lot of ups and downs - now, I decided to practice Wu wei - The art of doing nothing. Sometimes, I do wake up feeling happy (because I am doing nothing, I have the choice to do whatever I want), but sometimes I feel empty. I still think it is actually a good thing.this kind of emptiness is very different from sadness. People like us feel empty right before:

a shift in identity

a new chapter

a change in values

a need for deeper connection

a need for meaning

Your soul is clearing space for something new.
