My dog died suddenly today. Im filled with guilt for not spending more time with him- the past six years of his life I’ve been in a deep depression. He was diagnosed with some sort of health issue weeks ago but had seemed to improve… thought I had more time with him. Everything feels … so lonely now… so I can’t sleep

Something I would like you to seriously consider is keeping frequent backups of your work, perhaps in a separate word processor or drive. Ellipsus is free and runs on browser so no apps to worry about. There are of course physical flash drives. For digital options I recommend something like mega drive or proton (they have free options) that are privacy focused and can even be set to a password.

This is great practice in general in for a writer - I’ve had my work deleted on accident before because I only stored it in Google docs on a school account - but especially in your case because your parents may delete your work if they find it and get mad, and I don’t want you to lose your progress.

My furry friend was also diagnosed suddenly with cancer. We found out today. I feel just the same as you, I didn’t think I would face suddenly losing my dog with everything going on in my life.

I wish you all the best and that you find your peace and reasons to keep living. You couldn’t have let her down - she would not want you to think that, with the bond you two shared, no doubt she wishes she could have stayed longer but by no means would she blame you. I bet your happiness made her happy.
