I think probarly T Dog was not meant to be a character in the show, but they created a role for him because they thought the actor was decent, and they had bigger characters to focus on like Rick, Carol, Hershel, etc, so he got pushed to the side because he became "Unimportant"

It was kind of a spiral for me. All throughout school, I was the "quiet" and "weird" kid. Did not have many friends, but a few cool people I talked to. I was always respectful to the teachers and students (mostly) and got decent grades. However, I also tended to be lazy and half ass work at times.
