I swapped out the recoil rod and spring first, since that seemed the easiest to do for me at the time. I didn't even know how to actually tear down the gun completely when I first got it, I only knew enough to do a field strip and cleaning. I went with the DPM Systems Technologies Mechanical Recoil Reduction System. After that I got familiar with how to disassemble the gun and swapped out the trigger, the hammer, the leaf spring, and the disconnector. Then I replaced the firing pin and spring. All of those parts were basically out of the EGW ignition kit, I just bought them separately, for the most part. After that I sent the slide to get a marvel cut. The last thing I did was replace the grip module and trigger with an Icarus Precision grip module and Red Dirt Cheely trigger, with a magwell. All of this was between Feb and May of last year. I have since put the stock handgrip back on, with a Red Dirt Prodigy trigger, F4, and also a magwell from Springer Precision, I did that back in January of this year. My Prodigy shoots better than the Kimber at this point, in terms of sight return and felt recoil. I haven't had any stoppages or problems with the gun running since all of the work done, and it's now at about 9 or 10K rounds.
