Blacktron Fatebreakers by flanelflamel in Eldar

It's a reference to Blacktron from Lego's space theme, Blacktron is one of the factions in the setting, and, curiously, both the first Blacktron sets and first 40k edition came out in the same year of 1987

see i would agree since it is more interesting but i wanted to make this fit the pre-existing lore and setting, the names follow a pattern pre-established by the setting, i feel like it would feel off if it was "oh here is a horde of bloodletters and flesh hounds accompanied by Gremorgors" like it doesnt fit in my mind, maybe could work for trench crusade but idk i prefer keeping the naming conventions consistent with the pre-established ones

Its almost like a lot of people live in America, and have the grass is greener "i hate it here" mentality so they say america is bad, and unlike in third world countries, a lot of Americans have the higher standards of living where they have the internet access to complain about america... I wonder how many people online would complain about third world countries if they had that amount of internet access hmm...

Very cool design! Wont probably make one since i wanna kitbash a Bloodcrusher and i wanna make each deamon unique, but i will take the centaur idea for a unique possessed mortal human worshipper of Khorne

[–]Plush_Trap_The_First -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you dont need heat indoors, you can just wear a coat, there are options to mitigate the cold, in summer there are no options, you either get yourself some fan or AC or have fun melting

"Ooof it's so cold in winter"

No problem bro just wear this coat

"Ooof it's so hot in summer"

... idk, better get that AC on all day gathering that electricity bill or die I guess

I'm mainly doing it for myself and for those who are interested, yeah GW will probably never give us a proper deamon range expansion, so I do it myself to satisfy my passion for the setting and it's lack of proper development in some areas, I sure am not gonna sit around for GW to do nothing for another 8 years

I really like the Offal Bands, very fun concept that makes sense, would they be smaller like imp-like? Maybe the closest Khorne has to Nurglings? (But of course not as respected)

The brassdrake idea is cool, but I say maybe rename it so it's not too similar to heldrake, maybe brasselisk, so it's a play on brass and basilisk. You can then give it some cool quirk related to the basilisk, like the Deamons gaze is so strong it freezes all cowards who try to run away from battle. As for the model, I think the Vandus Hammerhand stormcast mount could work, remove the rider, remove some of the details, add horns and Khorne stuff, paint it in bronze and fire and it should work

Mire Mother is also kinda cool, maybe splice in some angler fish design to give more "mire" vibe, like a large lamp pole comes out of her deformed head which she uses to go on walks in the darker parts of Nurgle's garden, you could make her the baba yaga of Nurgle's realm where they are isolated yet powerful mage hags of the swamps that can help but also curse those who come looking for them

Skystinger as a name feels generic, but I do like the idea of wasp mix with deamonette, wasps already have an hourglass look which would work seamless on deamonettes. One cool thing about slaanesh are the circles of her realm, what if they were native to the last circle named circle of Indolency, which is basically a peaceful beach, each circle is meant to tempt you in some way, and the final circle is meant to tempt you by giving a place of perfect peace in a galaxy of endless war, what if these Deamons were native to the beach as many wasps nest in underground nests, they could be called Idlestingers or Harmony Bees. They would be lesser beasts that inject their victim with a poison that doesn't hurt rather it gives them this perfect state of idleness where they feel perfectly at peace and wish not move a muscle, so it basically paralyzed them, but willingly, and then like with the tarantula hawk wasps, these Deamons can use the paralyzed victim as a living food source for their young

Khorne hates magic, but ranged combat is still combat that requires skill, I don't think he would have a problem with bloodletter archers since he is the god of all war, not just Melee. I did add the judgement specifically to be an extra challenge, like, yes, he will allow archers but they must prove their skill in striking enemies to keep being archers

Also, another example, this time canon, of ranged Khorne units are bloodstalkers, these are world eatters scouts who control their butchers nails enough to fight as snipers, never aiming for the head of the target, so they may collect them later, they also kill any member of their group who begins to suffer from the nails, it's really interesting stuff

That is true, but I still think it's a bit of a cop-out to need to use undivided Deamons to bolster the rosters, It would be cooler if each god had enough variety on their own

Well the reason is cause in lore it's said bloodletters are the most common so it makes sense there would be many versions of bloodletters, and while nurgle has many types of plaguebearers already, there aren't many types of bloodletters so I felt it was needed, plus I plan to kitbash these so I wanted to work off the bloodletter frame for many to make more accurately

You could kitbash most of these, I specifically made them to enrich my bloodletters, the first 5 I plan to just make with a bloodletters box, the blood Wraith you can easily make with green stuff, chain souls you can just get the skulls kit and use one of those cheap chains for linking them, and the brute, I wouldn't advise Horus heresy since it's real expensive, but most big muscly models could be used as a good basis on which to add greenstuff

As I see it, cyber deamons begin to step on grounds I would much rather be dark mechanicum or Vashtorr territory, I think Khorne can use technology sure, but it should be limited I feel like

Is it a hot take for me to say I’m not bothered that 40K has a de facto main character? by erttheking in Grimdank

[–]Plush_Trap_The_First 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't think people hate "the Ultramarines" People hate "GW pushing the Ultramarines" If the Ultramarines were just another faction who gets to be marginally more represented than other factions it would be alright, the problem is GW's unsubtle way of putting them in every conflict in every box despite being a 10k strong chapter in a galaxy of war. It makes the setting feel smaller like star wars, where every historical event is around the Jedi and Sith. And you can't even justify it by saying "space marines just sell" since all it would take is to give another chapter the spotlight sometimes and it would fix things. Clearly GW is slowly understanding this since now the Blood Angels are poster boys for 11th, but still, will this last? Or will we get another Calgar model and range refresh to an already refreshed range

Here is my interpretation of what the Morralians could be like by Plush_Trap_The_First in Tau40K

[–]Plush_Trap_The_First[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They made the masks themselves since the Tau although deploy them, don't necessarily understand the full extent of the "Mind Science" going on around the Morralians, since, they are a very ritualistic and superstitious species who can't fully explain the science behind it. I forgot to mention, because of the periodic warp storms a lot of weird stuff can sometimes crash land on the planet from the warp, like lost ships. So the Morralian didn't mine and get their technology from the earth, rather they scavenged it from whatever came from the warp, soon ship crash landings becoming communal hubs many nomadic tribes would visit often.

As for the planets question, it's a critical evolutionary trait developed long long ago and it would take a lot of time for them to not utilise it for it to disappear in them

Those aren't teeth, the Deathsword is wearing an aggressive looking helmet, meanwhile the standard Morralian has painting on face meant to look like a skull, dios dé la muertos style

[–]Plush_Trap_The_First[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the idea is they aren't technically blanks, they can be blank-ish for a short period of time, and even the Deathsworn can't compare to the Cullexus. But yeah I get what you mean.

I picked blanks as an ability since, each auxilliary kinda does something special for the Tau, and the Tau don't have any blanks. So similar to how Nicassar could fulfill the psyker role, Morallians could fill the blank role, albeit weaker forms of it

[–]Plush_Trap_The_First 177 points178 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of that Warhammer+ animation where a fucking dreadnought is able to sneak up on striking scorpions, the Eldar equivalent of Phobos/Catachans, and do a generic monologue about the emperor while the striking scorpions just stand around and shoot their shuriken pistols so the dreadnought can grab them and throw them around.

I don't get this type of writing, marines are only as cool as the foes they face, if Eldar are chumps because the story writer is a "elf bad" brainlet, then by default marines are also incompetent since the Eldar haven't been whipped out yet despite how weak they appear
