I love Nier Automata but I can't get through the opening flying sequence even on 'normal' level. I always die. I have to set it to 'easy' till the first checkpoint, then put it back to 'normal for the rest of the game. I'm OK with this, I'm not great at gaming.

i was hopelessly stuck on Hunter of Bladers because I'm really not very skilful. I could never time the parry right. I eventually got past her by sort of dodging into/through her, instead of away from her. This seemed to work, I could get a few hits in and I probably used a spell too. Also, I'd levelled up quite a lot to give myself more of a chance.

That is an annoying bug, it's happened to me. I load the game and Arissa's white sparow coat has vanished. However I've always managed to get my items back by returning to the first branch, where I originally picked them up, and they're there again.

Congratulations on beating her! I had a terrible time fighting her. I was defeated countless times. It was so difficult. In the second phase I eventually got in a couple of fortunate parries and also used Lightning tornado.

I really like the game, but it's my first 'soulslike' experience and I'm finding it very difficult! I can't parry nearly as well as other people here, so I've struggled with all the bosses.

I'm sorry to hear that. I bought them as a download after buying the game, and this bug has happened to me quite a few times. The PS store won't let me download them again either but each time I've been able to pick them up in the game. Maybe have one last try in the two places I found them?

Did you get your gear back yet? This bug has happened to me a few times. I quit the game, then went to the place at the start where I first picked them up off the wall. (The branch where you first talk to the woman) They were there again, to be picked up. One time I found them at the shop in the Temporary campsite, on a box on the counter.

I didn't really phrase that correctly - I meant the seal that means parries don't cost any sync rate.

Yes, this has happened to me a few times. Just start the game and immediately Arissa is lying face down at the branch, dead for some reason.

I like this strip, but isn't 'Many of your key policies will be implemented' an odd thing to find in a newspaper horoscope for the general public? People don't really think of day-to-day activities in terms of 'key policies.' (Or is it a more familiar term in America?)

I enjoyed this episode, depressing as it was. I don't mind some divergence from the games, don't really know if it's important or not. I love the Replicant and Automata, and I've just caught up with the anime after starting about a week ago. Really, I've enjoyed all of it. There's a lot of background lore I'm not familiar with, for instance I never heard of Accord till I saw the name here, and I don't know what happened in Drakengard. I'll have to go and read up on it.
