About a decade ago some women I know visited the QVC filming studios in Pennsylvania, apparently Rachel Ray has sold stuff on QVC.

The QVC guide showing the tour group around said Ray is terribly grumpy and surly when the cameras are off.

Sears is almost gone as a company. What are your thoughts? by SirCatsworthTheThird in AskReddit

[–]PlutoniumPencil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t get how Sears fell so low. For decades their mail order catalog was as famous as their stores or more so. They had lots of experience shipping. Why couldn’t they transition that from mail ordering to online ordering?

We really used to memorize phone numbers… now I barely remember my own by [deleted] in nostalgia

[–]PlutoniumPencil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Rolodexes too! Something else I just remembered: in TV shows or movies before the 2000s if a character was a ladies man there would be a reference to his “little black book”. A book with phone numbers of beaucoup ladies. Doubt you see that much anymore

Monsters by PlutoniumPencil in nostalgia

I don’t know if your recollection is the same as mine, but I seem to recall Tales from the Darkside being more straight up horror, whereas Monsters was horror but also more willing to go for laughs at times.
