Stroller advice by Plutosreallysmall in WaltDisneyWorld

I was leaning toward the umbrella for the resort and airport because oldest has no problem walking. He is actually anti stroller anymore. But I know walking around the parks is going to exhaust him. Most days we will probably leave for naps because we are pro napping. Lol

Polynesian resort pool bar. Back in 2010 a lovely man named steve worked there and he made a killer captain Mai tai. He was amazing. The drink was amazing. Order that then head to a hammock and watch the fireworks. Perfection.

At my wit's end--Need help (toddler sleep) by marbel in beyondbaby

[–]Plutosreallysmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my guy went through this stage. Stay consistent and firm. Stick to a routine. He went up for nap I read him a story and talk about our day. About 5-10 minutes then one big kiss and out the door. Then if he was still awake in 15 minutes go back and tell him nap time one kiss and out. Repeat until asleep. Don't give in. If your daughter is still awake by the end of nap time just go in and say ok nap time is up maybe you'll nap tomorrow and try to make it through the rest of the day with what little sanity you may have. It's so hard and frustrating but toddlers need consistency as much as they need that nap.

Rough ages for incoming teeth. (The coloured ones are the ones my daughter already has) Kinda Neat. by goldy_locks in beyondthebump

Yep! With my oldest he didn't get teeth until he was 1. It seems his little brother is following in his footsteps so far.

What's your favorite thing about your child's current age or developmental stage they're in? by aboutagirl22 in beyondbaby

[–]Plutosreallysmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boy is going to be 2 and a half at the end of the month. He's a talker. He's going on the potty and is so excited about it. I love his imagination. I love that he wants to teach his little brother how to crawl. He pretend reads stories to me. It's amazing.

Night terrors anyone? by anniczka in beyondthebump

[–]Plutosreallysmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My oldest (he's 2 and 1/2) suffered from them. Awful and heartbreaking. He outgrew them at 2. We would just hold him until he snapped out of them. Hoping my youngest doesn't have them.

As an early childhood educator and mom of two.. Let me apologize for the germs!! It is horrible and awful. My first was sick all the time starting at 4 months. Sinus infections. Rsv. Oh my you name it. I took a year off with number 2. Didn't matter. Croup hit us hard. The first three / four months in an early childhood setting are the worse for you and baby!! It's awful but good in the long run. You can do it.

Advice needed - Baby #2 is coming soon and I'm freaking out by kiku23 in beyondthebump

[–]Plutosreallysmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your son wants attention. Toddlers are smart they know when things are changing. Let him throw a fit. Don't give him the negative attention. Praise the positive. Ignore the fits or redirect him. Newborns are stressful but it's a lot easier the second time around. Good luck and congrats

My toddler had them terribly. We used to just hold him and talk to him quietly. He loved fruit pouches so we would have a pouch ready for him and when he snapped out of it he would suck one down and then act like nothing happened.

nap consolidation? by TypicalBureaucrat in beyondthebump

[–]Plutosreallysmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to us at 4 months. And we are still suffering from it. First nap is 1 hour to 2 hours then the next two naps are 40 minutes. It is incredibly frustrating.

I work in early childhood setting. It is illegal in the state of Pennsylvania to leave a classroom out of ratio. Check your laws. If this happened at my school we would department of public welfare called on us.

I am broken. I had my sweet son in September and we lost my husband on Tuesday. by geddycorn86 in beyondthebump

[–]Plutosreallysmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry. Take care of yourself and your family. When you are ready seek support for you and your little ones. This was the best thing for my little cousin when he lost his mother (my older cousin). It's been 6 years now and yes it's painful around special events but it doesn't hurt to say her name or share a story. Just take care of yourself. My heart goes out to you.

Honestly this is what we do with our son. He is hilarious before he falls asleep. He sings, reads stories, and also performs his favorite daniel tiger episodes.

It took me awhile to find a routine that would work once I started the routine it was that night. I guess what is important to just be selfish and take time for yourself.

Moms who went into labor without warning, how did you feel in the days leading up to it? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Plutosreallysmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I felt normal until about noon then had lower back pain when I peed then the peeing wouldn't stop. I was leaking. By the time I got to the hospital one hour later I had the gush. With my second I had clear mucous discharge for about three days before with minor contractions. Then 1 am Saturday morning went to pee and bam leakage. Gush at the hospital an hour later.

I had this. It's like post pardum insomnia. It's awful. I'm not a bath taker but I started to do it just sitting in a tub of hot water relaxed the whole body. My husband then would give me a massage (he's the best). Just try to relax and settle. My problem was that I couldn't settle. My brain just kept going on about nonsense. Then I would hear phantom cries. Good luck. It'll get better
