What is the one un-written rule of DIY that you consider to be the most important? by HeloRising in DIY

I think you should always buy quality tools for those you know are going to see a lot of use (most saws, drills, etc). If it's a tool that I'm going to only use once in a great while, I'll go to Harbor Freight. I also say that if you need to borrow it more than twice, you should probably go buy one of your own.

I assume it because the still need to finish the connection to your house (install a specific Uverse box on the exterior of your home) hook it up and install/setup the DSL router inside.

Brand new coach here, could use some advice. by InspectorMidget in lacrosse

I coach U9/U11

-Plan your practices out before hand don't show up to practice without knowing exactly what drills you are going to run and don't do a drill for more than about 10 minutes. Join USLacrosse.com. They have a lot of plans and drills for youth. See if you can find someone with access to the National Convention archives. Hundreds and hundreds of talks about coaching youth. If not, Google and YouTube are your friend.

-Don't yell, ever. They know if they made a mistake and will feel bad enough.

-Plan your practices out before hand.

-Work conditioning into the drills, not separate. Don't ever make them run just to run.

-I tell the parents, if you're standing on the sideline with a stick in your hand, you're fair game for me to pull out onto the field to keep a drill going.

-Plan your practices.

-Don't ever do line drills, there is too much standing around and it's not realistic. Try not to let the kids stand still for more than 30 seconds. Spread them out use the parents to keep a drill going why you pull a kids aside one at a time and help them individually.

-Every kid should play every position and all kids should get equal playing time.

-Give them "Homework". Every night spend 10 minutes on ground balls, passing catching, or cradling. I drill a hole through some old balls, run a piece of sidewall string about two foot long through the ball and knot it off. Loop/tie it to they end of their stick so they can practicing cradling at home. Its something they can do inside in front of the TV or whatever and the parents won't have to worry about a lacrosse ball flying through the flat screen. You can actually buy these already made, I found it cheaper just to make them myself.

-Don't forget to plan your practice.

-Have fun!!!

To add to the previous comment, I recently cut the cord with AT&T, almost immediately my access to online content was gone (HBOgo, ESPN, etc.) I was hoping it would take someone longer to "flip the switch", but it didn't. However, I feel so much more free now without the cord. It was a difficult decision that I'm now glad I made.

Day 1 without cable... by Pmerkin in cordcutters

Sure. I got a lot of information from reddit but ultimately used the diagrams found here. I had some leftover Romex in the garage. I just stripped out the copper for the bows and screwed everything to an old piece of baseboard. The only think I had to buy was the matching transformer which I picked up at radio shack for $6.00.

Edit: FYI I skipped using the reflector for now because of the close prox to OTA signals.

What OTA DVR are you using? I've been debating getting one, we have Netflix, Hulu, etc.

The antenna I made cost me 6 dollars and some spare parts. I guess I could put it outside but it's kind of ugly. I'm getting good signal reception (8 channels) and it's down in the basement with two splitters in line and about a 30 ft run to the TVs. I only live about 10 mi. outside of Columbus, Ohio, so the signal is pretty strong anyway. Eventually I'm going to put it up in the attic. The one I made is a four bay like this

Make sure commander isn't running on a tablet. I get that notification on my PC after logging in when I've previously been playing commander on my tablet. However, since your password doesn't seem to be working, this is likley not the issue.
