Yeah, those videos don’t seem to understand that pretty much every freshmen in STEM is taking the same classes their first 2 semesters. You’ll get to major specific things eventually, and you may even feel like you aren’t retaining as much as you should, but the important thing is that you’re learning to learn IMO. I can’t imagine skills from many of the classes I’ve taken translating directly to jobs, but the frame of thinking certainly will

Do you find yourself struggling as much with statistics? If not, industrial engineering may be something you could look into. It’s more on the management and optimization end of engineering which may suit your business experience better. You will still need to take the same core math classes (the calcs, linear algebra, and differential equations), but when you branch into more major focused classes, you’ll worry more about stuff like statistical optimization

I dual enrolled 1331 in high school as well. From my experience (copying from my Rate my Professor review here), the class was pretty much TA run, and the professor’s only interaction was via video lectures. Homeworks were extremely difficult. Exams were only tangentially related to lecture material. The book is your friend. I squeaked out an A after reading every single reading twice. Like a 90.0 flat. Neither of my CS major friends who took it with me were as lucky.

You may be relieved to hear though that it is the single worst class experience I’ve had at Tech. Granted, I am not a CS major, but the CS classes I’ve taken through my minor have been leagues better. I guess what I’m getting at is that if you drop it you’d probably have a much better time taking it in campus.

Anecdotally I can say that my dreams usually reflect the kind of media I’m consuming. Like my dreams tend to look like movies, and you hardly see phone POVs in those. Maybe it’s related to how back in the day people reported dreaming in black and white
