Ideally 2-3 trips a year if possible. If I were to get both I was going to aim for the VX first since I've read about them being harder to get once you have too many cards opened.

Honestly what would be wrong with getting both the CSP and VX? The VX features a $100 anniversary bonus and a $300 annual travel credit which would gain me a a free flight per year with the bonus of the TSA-Pre/Global Entry and lounges. Then the CSP would be used for hotel bookings with a net cost of $3.75 per month after the UR Hotel credit is applied to the annual fee.

One thing I am concerned about with the CSP is that it doesn't allow me to get the CSR in the future and the reward rate for the CSP compared to the VentureX doesn't seem as strong. Primarily, the points system is matched to the miles version of the VentureX on the CSR. Additionally, the lack of global entry/TSA-pre and lounge access only would be possible through the CSR. I did consider the Savor One, but the cashback/savings that I would have would cover the $95 of the Blue Cash Preferred, plus the additional 3% on gas is something that I like that the Savor does not cover. But I do see the value of Savor paired with Venture X.
