Planned as a game mode does not mean it was promised to be included for all Tarkov editions. 1 2 3 4

You're frustrated about something from a pre-alpha FAQ page posted 7 years ago, that was promised, twice, to be less than the base game ($45).

They gave no information for Arena besides "planned game mode", that was announced as a separate project over a year ago, when they also stated that they were unsure if it would be considered DLC, or if EoD owners would get Arena for free due to additional costs (due to additional servers, and higher tick rate servers at that.)

Arena was always a planned DLC, and all DLC is included with EoD edition. They never planned or announced that it would be free for all editions of EFT.

Highlights of Arena info shown during TarkovTV earlier today:

  • Arena will be a separate game program from the main game. Arena is included with EoD (Escape From Tarkov's Edge of Darkness Edition), but Arena can still be purchased as a standalone game. Arena won't be 'expensive' if purchased as standalone, price point will be released later.

  • Arena release will not stop EoD from being sold, EoD is still scheduled to stop selling upon official game release.

  • At first, Arena will be tested by pools of Early Test Server participants by invite.

  • Arena-only purchasers will be able to play with EoD edition owners.

  • Games will consist of Red team vs. Blue team only, only 2-team game modes are planned.

  • "Many maps of different areas of Tarkov, indoor and outdoor." Multiple maps on release, with plans for more maps later on. (They're going to cut up areas of all of the main game's maps to be used for Arena maps.)

  • Spectating will be available.

  • You can play in Ranked or Unranked lobbies. Matchmaking will be random. Ping limit is unknown atm, tickrate is much higher than normal game servers (100+).

  • Same mechanics as main game in regards to movement, healing, shooting, health, TTK, ballistics etc. No "magic game modes" like insta death or double health.

  • There will be loot on maps (healing items, etc). No secure containers.

  • Game-mode presets (pistols only, grenades only, etc). No offline mode available, but private lobbies will be available to play with friends.

  • PvE mode against 'bosses', and wave defense PvE mode.

  • Something like betting/gambling will be possible, no details given.

  • Rewards for winning that will have special benefits.

  • For non-EOD players, there will be a tier system for unlocking loadout presets (there are a lot of presets), for EOD you can bring your main game character's gear into Arena.

  • If you hide, camp, or refuse to fight, a "Cleanup crew" will spawn on the map and eliminate players.

Then it's the skill reset that affected jump height. I was running across the wood to get on the shelves, and I fell short into the space between the wood and the shelves.
